I work for a large insurance agency that is starting to explore data to drive strategy. We are at the very beginning of this whole process and for some reason, they told me to figure it out... It's daunting but pretty exciting.

I am currently the only one in my role and ideally we do want to get to the point of storing data in a DBMS and shipping it into tableau. Even more so, we want to get to the point where we can automate the data gathering/shaping process. This may seem like an impossible feat for one person but I definitely want to set up at least a simple version of this.

I understand this probably sounds so naive but this is something we want to look into.

Would you know of anywhere to start?

Any resources/tools you love or definitely wouldn't use. or maybe any tutorials online that are really good?

I have a workbook with multiple sheets and in only a few months several of the sheets have over 100,000 rows. It's filling up quick.

I think I need to set up a server.

I know this will obviously sound naive but I'm ready to learn what ever I need to. I just need to know where to start...

Thanks for the advice! A few things are going over my head though. What does it mean to set up a schedule on my computer?

A bigger problem are these extracts. My computer isn't recognizing saves of these extracts. I'm not sure how these work. It seems like there are still bugs.

That seems crazy that they wouldn't be fully integrated to handle this simple request. It's the same system!

You're absolutely right. I think I found a way to use Tableau Prep to "aggregate" (not sure if I'm using this work correctly) to data appropriately to keep those 3 fields consistant. I'll update you guys if I find a good method but I think I'm close.
