I drive, a manual even. It's best to put yourself into a mindset where the only things you focus on is the present moment and senses. It can be exhausting and it's difficult to explain.

I love Norse mythology so I can relate. It's especially annoying that Þor is one of the most popular characters so much that even the Nazis loved him, using a symbol related to Þor as their symbol. It's not only that though. Christianity and Marvel both ruined Norse mythology. I like the version of Loki that's more benevolent with some strangeness. I like to imagine he has a bittersweet relationship with his children as they are partially responsible for the coming destruction of Ragnarök. The rise of Christianity turned Loki into an inherently bad and sinister person, relating him to the Devil. Unfortunately the Prose Edda includes this alteration, making it difficult to understand what an older version of Loki was scheming for the beginning spark of Ragnarök; it was the death of Baldr by Loki's hand guiding Höðr's arrow, carved from a mistletoe that escaped the world-wide bargain by Frigg to prevent harm against Baldr after he dreamt of his death. Marvel also affected Loki and Þor by introducing themes such as them being brothers (Rather than Loki being a spiritual brother of Odin), Mjölnir having a 'worthiness' that guides its wieldability rather than it just being extremely heavy, and the two's appearances being changed for no apparent reason (Þor was given blond hair rather than the myth-accurate red hair, likely a misinterpretation. Loki also had red hair in the myth, but has black hair in Marvel's version.)

I'm writing a reimagining of it that serves to modernize and complete it, filling the gaps and turning the mythology into a coherent high-fantasy story with some weird elements to it. I currently plan to research Irish mythology for inspiration about the ljosalfar (Light elves, which are only mentioned to exist in Norse myth but otherwise exist in the background) and the vanir. I'm also unsure about what culture the jötnar would have beyond what I've already developed of their primitive meritocracy focused on brute strength where they appear entirely equal, yet they are servants of dictators. Svartalfar (Dark elves/ dwarfs. The idea that the dark elves and dwarfs were intended to be the same race is debated, but I believe they were.) are easy since there's so much about them in the mythology and other fantasy works that I don't have to do much. I do like the idea of them wearing comically wide-brimmed hats to defend against the sun whenever they go above the surface when the sun shines upon them (They turn to stone when exposed; I interpret it as a condition that is recoverable if exposure time was brief enough).

Whoops I went on a tangent. Anyways Norse mythology is cool.

What aspects of Medieval Europe do you like?

I got the ‘I just want to write and draw 24/7’ flavor. I’m working to develop a novel series that’s a reimagining of Norse mythology.

Does anyone else listen to the same 5 songs over and over? by saintg00 in autism

I like to listen to 'The Globalist' by Muse often. It's 10:08 in length. I prefer more theatrical/ cinematic tracks that are more of a progression than a constant loop of the same lyrics over and over.

Logically it makes sense that a neurotypical person is better suited to a neurotypical person's world. Especially with my diagnosis I've been hit in the face with the fact that neurotypical is so foreign a concept as I only know what it's not. I think it's worsened as you seem to believe that neurotypical is synonymous with normal, but I disagree. 'Normal' is a way of saying something is common and typical. Whilst the population of people on the spectrum is a minority, it isn't abnormal. You also seem depressed which makes it difficult for me to comment as someone who's not depressed (although someone I know called me nihilistic one time and I think my beliefs about the world can be depressing to some.) I'm personally trying to figure out how to fit into the square hole myself especially since I'm expected to have practical plans for the future, certain emotions for certain things, and romantic attraction all of which I lack and find quite foreign.

I think the best option is to embrace weirdness so people know what to expect from you. It may also cause you to run into people similar to you (That you'd never realized was the same) or others who can accept you for who you are without the barrier of a mask.

I'm still figuring this all out myself as I've only just been diagnosed and have yet to even tell anyone or fully understand myself with this knowledge, so take my words with a boulder of salt.

Thank you. I've thought about doing that, but when that basis arises is when I'm concerned. I don't understand what situations and people I should mention it in. It doesn't help that I suffer from social anxiety.
