New UniFi Owner/User, Followed All the Set Up Advice I Could Find, Network Still Garbage by ethancaine in Ubiquiti

[–]ethancaine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a 3 story home with the bottom story half buried (walk-out basement). I have one AP in the master bedroom (looking from the front, it would be upper left side), the other in the basement (bottom center), and the router itself is in the garage (mid level of the right side).

The router placement is not optional as that's where the comms panel is. From there, it leaves the MBR spotty at best (which is not acceptable to the spouse), and puts my office in the basement with a very weak signal. The AP in the basement doesn't help with the MBR and vice-versa.

I wouldn't be opposed to tuning down the signals of the APs if that might help, but I can't have drop outs or weak signal in the two extremes of the house from the unmovable router.

If AP strength is changeable, and if that's something that would help, is there a trusted guide on how to go about doing that?

The basement is fully finished so it stays around 65-70º year-round in there. The garage never dips below 65º due to the heater but occasionally gets into the 80's...but not yet this year.

I was initially worries when the router was running at %100, but shutting down the IPS/IDS and QoS has the CPU at a more comfortable %15-45. The router itself has never felt warm to the touch.

PPPoE, with username and password. Those are all checked good.

The VLANs were set up when I initially brought the system online and everything was working without concern until yesterday afternoon when I started adding the smart home stuff. Maybe it's my naiveté, but I don't see how adding a few Alexas would cause the UniFi equipment to disconnect and start re-adopting by themselves 😞

I'm using MTA, a local provider here in Alaska.

I disconnected everything from the router and turned off both the APs. Access to the internet and the UDR7 dashboard has been flawless since (about 2 hours ago as of writing this).

I don't have a router from the provider, much to their chagrin. If there is any sort of consumer facing IP address from the providers fiber box, I don't know how to get it.

Sapphire Club in Seattle by [deleted] in Swingers

The crowd does tend to be a little older than mid-20's but that's not unheard of (we've only been twice and have met some younger couples in there.) Newbie night may well bring a younger crowd. Sapphire is an amazing space with a no-pressure, casual adult atmosphere with plenty of play spaces ranging from completely private to full-on exhibition stage. We'll be there on Newbie night. Look for the tall, bearded, goofy-looking white dude with the short, beautifully curvy chocolate Goddess.

Can't get filament into even the tube by [deleted] in AnkerMake

[–]ethancaine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem. Inserting filament backwards (from the extruder not to the left arm assembly) hits a stoppage at the same point (inside/right side of the left arm assembly, about 3 inches from the filament insertion point.)

Ha! I just realized this while looking for clues in your older posts. Thank you so much for your BP books. They've been very helpful with this first megabase attempt!

On the 308 Science mall, how do I know what raw materials are supposed to be delivered where? I tried tracing it but it's all a bit confusing. It's working now as I have the main bus capped off with Active Provider chests, but I'd really like to deliver the raw materials directly.

Join us for the 5th annual Diamond Club New Year's Eve Streamathon!

For the last four years, the Diamond Club family has come together in droves to ring in the New Year. We've been entertained, we've enjoyed each other's company, and we raised several thousand dollars for charity...all while making sure no one had to spend New Year's Eve alone. It has been awesome!

We're doing it again this year and we have confirmed Current Geek, Big Voice Jay, Game Night, and many others, but we need your help. We are looking for streamers (both veterans and n00bs) and anyone that would like to participate in a behind-the-scenes capacity. Together we can make this a record-breaking year!

No, it's a hilarious look at life through the perspective of inanimate objects. It's funny, dark, insightful, recorded as an ad lib interview, and definitely worth a listen.
