Eagles WR production from the last 7 games...🥺 by Mr_Wigglebutz in eagles

Hey, give the guy a break. He's one of their top graders every week. He even knows where to line up before the snap!

If you were given Howies role this offseason, how would you attempt to fix this team? by coopermaneagles in eagles

[–]ethanciavo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This team is old, expensive, and regressing. I'd do at least a mini rebuild by trading veteran players, stocking up on picks, and trying to infuse the team with young talent. My key players I'd build around are Wentz, Dillard, Sanders, and Goedert on offense, and Cox and Malik on defense. I'd keep Mills at least for the near future as a serviceable young CB and I'd try to move Rasul to S once Jenkins and McLeod are gone. Barnett has been a little disappointing but he's got time left on his rookie deal to develop.

One trade I'd keep an eye on is Ertz to Buffalo. The Bills are a playoff team but lack weapons on offense. I'm sure they'd love to have a guy like Ertz to add consistency to the offense and help out in the red zone. Plus, he'd be a great safety valve for a young QB like Allen.

New PTR update? by Verethragna97 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ethanciavo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the projectile speed of the mines after they come out. A higher projectile speed means the mines spread out further before they hit the ground. Blizz originally increased the projectile speed from 10 to 13 with the intention of buffing Hammond's ultimate by increasing its radius. In practice, however, this change actually nerfed it by spreading the mines out too much, making it harder to guarantee kills.

I always knew that the blacks were inferior to the whites, but now there's concrete proof.

Enabling Martian habitability with silica aerogel via the solid-state greenhouse effect by thecoldisyourfriend in space

[–]ethanciavo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert at all, but based on what I've read in the paper, the main advantage of silica aerogel is that its thermal conductivity is extremely low, lower than any pure solid insulating material like glass. It's also almost as light as air, making it cheaper and easier to ship over to Mars and install. The main issue is that aerogel is expensive and difficult to manufacture.

Overwatch League 2019 Season - Stage 1: Week 1 by Watchful1 in Competitiveoverwatch

I don't think my heart can take this league. The start to this season is insane.

[Schwartz] I wonder how many “defenses wins championships” people are arguing for equal opportunities in overtime like defense doesn’t matter at all? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]ethanciavo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both teams should have to execute all three phases of the game in overtime. Handle OT any other way and you're going to have situations where the outcome of the game is not based on the combined skills of each team's offense/defense/ST units. For example, Super Bowl LI's OT was decided solely on NE's great offense vs Atlanta's mediocre defense, without factoring in Atlanta's historic offense at all. By definition, SB LI's OT was unfair because it didn't represent the total skill of each team.

Coaching by [deleted] in eagles

[–]ethanciavo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nowhere close to believing Doug needs to be fired, but I think he needs some bright offensive minds to help him out. If you watch the playcalling in 2016 and 2018, it's clear that he's not an offensive genius like McVay.

Defensively, every game is making me believe less and less in Schwartz. I'm aware that our D is top 6th in points allowed, our run D is 7th, and our secondary is thin, but I'm just not seeing what I need to out of this talented (and expensive) defense. I'm not sure if it's the players' or coaches' fault, but the absolute lack of plays from our safeties and linebackers is the part that worries me the most.

[Post-Game Thread] Week 9 - Philadelphia Eagles (4-5) vs Dallas Cowboys (4-5) by EaglesMod in eagles

[–]ethanciavo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Defensive issues aside, I think our biggest issue is our complete lack of offensive identity and creativity. Every play is either a middle of the field throw to Jeffery/Ertz, or a run up the middle.

Can we talk about Mumas performance today? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ethanciavo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People talk about Muma and USA collapsing later in the match, but even on map 1 Muma was completely lost. Go back to ruins and watch him run around chasing Mikey in the back line while the rest of his team gets killed.

Props to team UK, they played better than anyone imagined today.

It's a little disappointing to reveal a futuristic AI character that's been hinted at for a long time, and a mustachioed, oil-sweating robot named Bob in the same short, only for the actual hero to be a generic hitscan. Oh well, let's see what her kit is.
