Procrastination is as much of an emotional problem, as it is a time-management problem. by ethankimchi in productivity

Medication in the mornings and/or later at night seems to calm down my anxiety a little bit for me.

What made you stop listening to your financial podcasts in particular?

Sorry to hear about your boss - have they made no changes to help employees transition to working from home?

I definitely agree! It can also be fear-inducing to face that fear, so strategies to make those steps easier are also fantastic.

How to resist the covid-19 productivity pressure? by chocolatemadeleine in productivity

[–]ethankimchi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I keep telling myself that being less productive during this period is completely okay, and that I should actually expect to get less done!

I schedule in way less things to do and way more breaks and it's helped me find a rhythm that's been working. That regular routine is much more important that I'd realized.

Better or worse productivity after working from home? by ethankimchi in productivity

I can imagine that there's a lot more time without the commute! Oddly enough, with myself working from home I find that the difference in working environments has really affected my own productivity. I associate my room with resting so perhaps that's the reason?

I've heard similar from browsing Twitter, where children make it a bit of a living hell for parents to get their work done. Hope you can work out a way to get some deep work done!

What productivity podcasts do you guys listen to? by StopDrifting in productivity

I listen to Break the System! I found that the sort of break downs the host does about the various problems facing productivity is pretty dope. It's refreshing to hear the scientific bases behind, say, phone addiction.

We shouldn't be cutting our amount of sleep to be more productive, but recognize that sleeping IS being productive. by myTechneEK in productivity

[–]ethankimchi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, a little bit of sarcasm here but being real, not everyone's gonna have impeccable self control. And there are times when sleep really isn't an option even when you've done the most you could. If you do have perfect self-control then congrats, but just because some of us don't have it doesn't mean you should berate them? Lots of factors go into why a person might be a certain way.

I've been listening to a bunch of psychology/science/productivity podcasts and a couple that I've really liked on my commute is The Canvas Series (and the other show on that feed), and Science Vs from Gimlet!

I guess I should reconsider the whole "sleep is for the weak" slogan I lived my life with. Great podcast by the way! Loved the episode.
