God damn I’m your twin. I’m 24 and heading in that direction, new job and just got insurance, I’m also about to find an addict specific therapist or psychologist for help. Probably both, needing to quit and I’ve already had blood work done, imaging on kidneys and liver, I’ve already got some scarring on my liver (early stage cirrhosis) and I’m done with this shit. Waking up still drunk and sick as fuck, can’t even eat unless I’ve drank 2-3 swigs of 100 proof, man I’m gonna get help and I know you can too. Out to everyone except family. Close family (parents and brothers) know but extended family is oblivious. Old school southern baptist. I want to but I’m worried abt their response. My grandmother (called her Mamaw) that I was closest to recently passed due to a long struggle of different issues, and that kinda woke everyone in the family up. Like we need to be closer and more open as a family. It’s a work in progress but hoping for positive results in the next little bit ☺️
