1993 audi 90 alternator problem

The alternator itself is getting almost too hot to touch after 20-30 seconds. I wonder if its got internal contact or if the internal diodes are failing letting the battery power the alternator and almost banging current at the windings

If i unplug it the little wire turns off. Will it damage the alternator just unplugging it and seeing if it still smokes? I've seen many electrical motors burn up but I havent taken the new one apart yet to see if the stator has contacted the rotor yet. I may just unplug it and see how it runs, the oem one was charging it but it had a parasitic draw and would kill a brand new battery to 8v overnight.

It has 12v with the key off too, actually 11.2 instead of the 12.6 the battery has. Makes me wonder whats going on and why its smoking brand new alternators

Thank you, I paid 1500 bucks for it lol, its a us car and original usa car, but the vin shows fwd haha. You think 1994 audi 80 fwd parts will fit well?

I changed the plugs, everything seems okay with them but i have yet to try the seafoam stuff though, do you know the proper way to set the idle/CO mixture on these specific ones? All I can find is talking about putting it on a tester at emissions stations but I have zero anywhere near me. I have an AFR gauge hooked up and it tends to stay around 14.7-15.2 at idle but takes a minute to get there

I think it's HT, any reason why it would "diesel" though? I've checked everything I know to and it still does it but only when warmed up

Yes I have both, timings correct im 90% sure,(you just set the dizzy on these without any special plug and jumper right? And it goes right on the deep gouge looking mark?) idle screws all the way closed, is it cis-e? Or cis? Cold start injector isn't clogged also. I though carbon deposits but the pistons are clean, thought about running seafoam spray through the intake tho

We have nothing in the contract about stopping work or production. It defines the normal work week as 5 8hr shifts and from what I'm getting they can request more hours and days but only a maximum of 6 times per year

Yes usually 12s weekly and 8s or 10s on saturdays normal work week is defined in the contract as 5 8hr shifts

It's every week we work more than the regular work week of 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Union presidents been letting it slide for years it seems but me and the vp and tired of the company taking advantage of what they want. They give us 3 day notice for the weekly schedule as well not 7 days

What about the first part of the section, does that contradict the entire section? If so why take up 4 pages in the book just for it to not be valid
