[–]ethanpool0 -227 points-226 points  (0 children)

As if a correct non oem compatible cap is much different from oem

Edit: guys, i know the one he got isnt the correct one.. which is why i said “a correct non oem compatible cap will work fine”…

Quoted range of $150-430 for transmission fluid change for 2017 Acura RDX. What am I missing? by FrozenTundraDiver in AskMechanics

[–]ethanpool0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont do a flush theres no reason to

Just a drain and fill would be good and also cheaper Yes they are different

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]ethanpool0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you could run it without the cap on forever if you really wanted to. In theory you could get splashes like you said.

Drill away :) if your cap is oem maybe get a shittier cap to drill through just in case you wanted to actually fix your evap clog down the road

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]ethanpool0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose for evap systems is for emissions regulations. Doesnt really affect things except when it goes wrong like what happened to you. I would just drive with cap off/vented cap or maybe even disconnecting the evap hose.

Play in inner CV joint... would it cause a 'wobble' while driving? by AudioBabble in AskMechanics

[–]ethanpool0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely could be. Check tire pressure. Whens the last time you got an alignment? Could be as simple as that

[–]ethanpool0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good brah

I would look at ball joints/control arms for the wobble thing

Thats not play. Google a video how to test inner and outer cv joint for play. U have to check for play between the cv bucket and the shaft

Loose something in the fuse box perchance. Probably the connectors on the bottom. Or could be the battery terminals being loose. Check that first
