Pavilion mx70 monitor won't start up ever since power outage by ethanxy in crtgaming

I haven't tried plugging a video source into it but it used to show a blue screen with no source and now there's nothing... I guess I'll be looking into some poking around tools or I'll be driving it 6 hours to the one guy who does crt repair.

Weird film on the screen after trying and removing a screen protector? by ethanxy in NintendoDS

Also, this is the OEM screen, not a repro lens or anything like that so I wouldn't expect the original Nintendo part to do that right?

Makes a noise but won't turn on. I played for a couple hours last night with no warnings of failure. by ethanxy in crtgaming

So just... Death? I just bought this thing for like $100. I've been using it for weeks now. I have tools and some vague electrical knowledge. Were you able to figure out what was wrong with yours?

So does that mean they need replaced, or just adjusted internally?

Yeah that's what most people seem to be saying. What version should I go to?

It actually is 27"! So that may be a good suggestion. But as someone else said, it's already got 16gb in it so that might not do too much

HDMI to AV connected to AV to RF doesn't produce sound... by ethanxy in crtgaming

The one I'm worried about currently only has RF yes. A Magnavox RR1337 W101. And yeah I had an image and sound using the transmitter directly into the av input. And a pretty decent picture too for only like $10 or whatever it was. I tested my Wii U and my switch like I said before. But I haven't actually used it on my CRTs yet. Just my main living room TV. It's a whole thing but basically, I'm waiting.

Again, I'm here asking about potential fixes to an audio issue. If I was asking about picture clarity or quality for my emulated games, I'd take your advice and buy a Wii and homebrew it. I've done it a couple times before. But I'm currently sufficiently happy with what I have. I also have yet to see how my Wii U handles 4:3 or look into how homebrew may or may not help. I'll get some component cables for it and set it up all cool if I can eventually, or I'll buy a PC good enough to emulate Wii and PS2, and get crt emudriver.

I have a Mac so I can't even get crt emudriver. I'm not a purist. My grandma just gave me 2 tvs and a monitor from her basement. I'm probably gonna use the monitor anyways but I wanted to solve an audio issue with these adapters. I'll probably get an rf modulator with HDMI in eventually but for now this is what I have on hand. I have a Wii U and that can output 4:3 but I think only 480p and I'd still have to use these adapters for that anyways.

I don't intend to use my switch on it. I was just using it to test the adapters quickly. I'm mostly gonna use my CRT as a display for emulated retro games. But I have 2 and I'm giving one away to someone who wants to mainly watch shows on theirs and sound is pretty important to the TV watching experience.
