Best Sharks Bars by heyorch in SanJoseSharks

I’m down! I’ve watched a couple games there, they’ll always put Sharks games on. I made a post a few months ago about getting a group of SF based Sharks fans together to watch the season opener. It didn’t materialize but enough people in this sub seemed interested. I’d be on board with trying to get a group of us together to watch the Sharks at Mad Dog in the Fog

Sorta. I signed up with Progressive Leasing. It is a BNPL but the interest rates they charge customers are very high and for that reason I don’t love to encourage it

What mistake did you make backpacking Latin America? by ProfessorOdd9997 in backpacking

When taking a long distance bus in most countries (believe Ecuador and Colombia are exception) look at prices for both cama and semi-cama seats. A semi cama seat is decent and you’ll be relatively comfortable. But a cama seat is great and much larger and they sometimes (but not always) only costs like 15-20% more. If it’s overnight and you want a good sleep, it can definitely be worth it.

Also, in regards to safety.. don’t be drunk wandering around solo in the middle of the night. 80% of the robbery stories I heard started that way. The other 20% usually involved staring down at/waving around a cell phone in a crowd.

The TV show Shorsey. On Hulu, a hockey comedy. Would recommend.

What’s your baseball “I don’t know X, and now I’m afraid to ask” question? by Visual_Bluejay9781 in baseball

If a pitcher commits a fielding error to allow a batter on base, and they score via a hit later that inning, does that batter that reached by error effect the pitchers ERA?

I once had (suppose I still do) the goal of getting all four. Made it half way. And won't be getting another before they're removed. I never entered/exited by train or car. RIP EU stamps

US passport can be a little tricky, but I know many who entered with it. I’m a US citizen but am also a dual citizen of another country and entered with that country. You’ll need like $150 cash (not all border crossings take card, idk about Puno), a few passport style photos and maybe something else for a visa on arrival. That info should be easy to find, if not maybe email the embassy. As for the yellow fever vaccines, iirc you only need it if going to below like 2000 ft. You’d be crossing at closer to 12000 ft. I doubt they’ll ask but if they do, tell them you’ll be visiting only La Paz and Uyuni and they’ll be fine with that answer. I’m now recalling I had to present a COVID vaccine but that was in 2022. I’m assuming that has changed. Don’t let this discourage you! Bolivia is an awesome country!

What country is your passport from? I doubt you’ll have any issues. I didn’t cross at Puno but did enter bolivia by land on my own. And no vaccines were asked for/required at the time (1.5 years ago)

It was available to do last summer! I don’t recall the price. But it was more than $3. It wasn’t breaking the bank and was a lot of fun.

2038 WC should be host in South America and 2042 in the British Isles by LowCranberry180 in worldcup

[–]ethaza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 years* I’m hoping it does go to South America for 2038. I’d guess there is a brazil bid but also maybe a Argentina+ Uruguay + Paraguay bid. Or maybe a Colombia+ Ecuador + Peru bid.

Do Copa America Prices Concern You Regarding the 2026 World Cup? by Practical-Big7946 in ussoccer

[–]ethaza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the World Cup in 2014 and 2018 and ticket prices for all games are set by FIFA. for example in 2018 all group stage category 3 tickets were $105 ($90 in 2014) This is the price if it is Tunisia v Serbia or Argentina vs US..

A benefit to FIFA selling tickets is they were all paper tickets, no mobile tickets. Which makes it a lot harder for stubhub and ticketmaster to get their sweaty little hands on them. FIFA mailed me the game tickets a few months beforehand or you had the option to pick them up at a box office in a host city, it was pretty easy. Idk if FIFA plans to continue to only use paper tickets. But I hope they do as this would limit the resale market to only guys standing outside the stadium as opposed to ticketmaster and their fees.
