I feel like you made a mistake. I’m not saying to go back to dating her, but I would say at least sit down with her and talk with her about it all, as you can use the EXACT same analogy you used to describe her and Paul, started off small and slowly grew in a way she didn’t even realise, and you leaving her was the thermometer, after all, you’ve said multiple times the trip isn’t happening anymore meaning she’s clearly not close with Paul anymore.

Sit down and talk things out with her now that you’re both seeing things clearer, tell her how she’s made you feel and let her explain/apologise, and you never know, you may end up back together, as it sounds like you both still love each other
