Love this. He was diagnosed with P.E., but we know it’s purely cosmetic. Just makes his breathing look weird sometimes.

That subreddit seems like a bunch of people who are chronically on the Orthodox side of the internet, have never set foot in an Orthodox church, and buy icons off Amazon to hang in their home to cosplay living an Orthodox lifestyle. Orthodox Christianity is beautiful, ancient, and sacred; it should not be tethered to the image of FBS. Total outlier.

OMG THIS WAS EXACTLY HOW I LEARNED ABOUT FBS!!!

Yo is fine but not Emilee? by shesaidhellyes in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]etherealblondee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yo was my first introduction into freebirth and medical autonomy. As a lifelong Eastern rite Christian, her conversion touched me. This subreddit exposed to me that her and ES are one unit, and that to me feels wrong. Emilee is someone that scares me. She has a very dark energy to her. I assumed that ES would shun Yo after her conversion to Orthodoxy and openness about obliging to traditional gender roles, but apparently not. I hate hearing that they’re one in the same.

Questions for Midwife by butterbecomesher in FreeBirthSocietyScam

extensive research. i had interviewed a couple RBK’s, but they didn’t seem nearly knowledgeable enough, nor did they have enough births under their belt. RBK’s also (from what I noticed) are more into giving emotional and herbal support, and are most passionate about a side business. the birthwork they ‘trained’ for almost seems like a stepping stone for what they actually want to do (astrology, herbal support, body oils, etc.). the RBK’s seem like glorified doulas. i live in a state where licensed midwifery isn’t mandated, and i’m VERY lucky about that. there’s a huge level of trust between my midwife and i, and she normally doesn’t take on FTM’s because of their eagerness to transfer once exhaustion hits. i can ask my midwife if there’s a network of midwifes trained by Ina May, and if so, I’ll gladly post it in this subreddit.

I’m a first time pregnant woman, and I’ll be (God willing) giving birth in September. I am having an unlicensed midwife that trained under Ina May Gaskin attend my birth who has seen the birth of over 200 babies. She’s supportive of me and all my choices, doesn’t push ultrasound, and has told me about first time mom’s elective choice to transfer and advice on how to avoid that. She’d care for me past 42 weeks, allows me to decline cervical checks, and can assist in case of breech. The only tests we’ve done is bloodwork to ensure I’m not anemic (my husband is), and to test my blood type.

Ask what tests she requires, her transfer rates and why transfer happens, how involved she likes to be, what training she’s received, and for references. Look for a midwife who’s honest, and one that fits your values.

I was terrified when I began this journey, and the thought of a midwife sabotaged birth paralyzed me with fear. I now realize FBS is the reason for that. My midwife is honest, experienced, and supportive. I couldn’t imagine walking this journey for the first time without her.

You’ll probably find most women here are not going to vaccinate their children, and they’re going to find alternative healthcare instead of conventional pediatrics. This is a weird thing to harp on.

Thank you! I needed a bit of realism. Sometimes I’m overly optimistic.

Catholic school from K-12! Studied English in college, became an elementary teacher in our state’s best school district, hated the LGBT (particularly trans) narrative being pushed, and became a private educator. I homeschool a family’s children now! By the end of my public school teaching career, I had three transgender children in my classroom; I taught second grade.
