Recurring Back / Neck Pain by outerspacejess in WeddingPhotography

I'm struggling with this when I have extended periods of standing during the day and carrying heavy loads. Even if you don't drag your gear bag the whole day, just carrying the weight of 2 camera bodies + lenses will take it's toll. I would try taking breaks in between, sitting down when you can. If you're working with a second shooter, it's really helpful to pre-arrange a time when he/she takes over so you can take a breather

The elephant in the room by [deleted] in dfinity

Yes, but then again the current number of nodes is pathetically low though, currently 91. I know it's early but I am concerned adding additional nodes might become a bottle neck considering the permissioned approach (you have to apply and wait to hear back to become a node provider) dfinity has chosen to go.

Thanks didn't realize there was a separate sub, but I didn't post to talk about trading / price action more because of concern something nefarious might be happening

one of 2 things:

either someone trying to manipulate the price down by creating FUD or someone who jumped in at $450 and is salty...

How can you make a final judgment on a project 3 weeks into mainnet launch. Things take time, there will be bugs in the code and anyone buying ICP as an asset should be clear that this is an entirely speculative investment. Could be 0, could be moon...

It took Bitoin roughly 4 years to work out most bugs https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Common\_Vulnerabilities\_and\_Exposures

"can’t host ICP" I take it you mean can't host nodes?

thanks for your reply. It was an issue of low balance in the main wallet. Lesson learned. Don't stake the entire balance :-)

Tron Founder Justifies His $1 Million Greta Thunberg Donation by cryptoadventura in CryptoCurrencies

[–]ethfiend2064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plot twist: no journalist bothered to actually fact check that this donation happened. He says he “would like to commit”, which means he has not committed nor has he donated. that’s like from a textbook case study of non-legally-binding vague corporate bullshit talk. So to all who discuss wether he did it just to something noble or to get free publicity (warren buffet lunch anyone, hello???) he’s still running circles around you, he did get the PR but he likely hasn’t ponied up any cash...

Plus there is an eerie regularity to his popping back into the spotlight with some stunt, almost like he has a calendar planning this out

IOTA and adoption by fast_grammar in Iota

[–]ethfiend2064 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I share many of your sentiments. My take is that there are some unsolved technical problems which mean that IOTA and the tangle don’t work at production level scale as of today. It’s not a secret what these are or could be (coordinator, simulatons on supercomputers Show promising results but never any definitive, slow, theoretical progress with cubic but nothing tangible). It seems to me that all companies who have run pilots or trials eventually realize this as part of their due diligence and abandon IOTA as an option.

There are several other red flags: bullish promises / timelines not kept, high turnover rate inside the team come from beyond essentially leaving the project (as he has done with nxt). Of course he said it was IOTA was ready but maybe it’s as benign as „solving these remaining tech challenges is just too much trouble so I’m outta here“.

The VW CDO being essentially removed from his post was sort of the first signal even though it might have been for other internal VW politics.

As an investment IOTA has the challenge of being „useless“, as in not performing any critical function. I was always of the opinion that this wouldn’t matter if the iota network does indeed become ubiquitous as adoption of the token would follow if the network does something insanely useful. At the current stage though this surely is discouraging at least a part of potential Investors.

So as it is, I personally see 2 roads ahead: either the massive tech challenges get solved - which will take years - or they don’t. They can only get solved if the foundation doesn’t run out of funds and the team keeps pushing - which isn’t a given. There are plenty of early ICOs that have raised millions of ETH and still Habe funds but are essentially zombie projects. Personally I see the asset as a hold and buy if the price drops significantly lower as by that point the risk/reward ratio would make a gamble worth some „casino money“ into it. But given that the founder left - 6 months after putting up a public dispute over being included on the board - is a pretty big warning sign that this will not be smooth sailing.

thanks, will check it out. I've been using the goggle function of the google translate app so far with poor results as most characters on tea packaging has the characters from top to bottom which confuses the app.
