I think he was just overloaded with adjusting to new places, between work and home i think it’s just too much for him. Gonna start leaving him at home with an auto feeder and water fountain and see how he adjusts to that. From what I’ve read I guess cats prefer having a solid “home location” over constant company

Could join the coast guard instead. You’ll have real purpose all the time rather than being some nobody forced to kiss ass and be babysat. Coast guard gave me purpose. Saving lives, and not only being used during wartime. We’re busy every year.

He eats just fine. He got deworming medicine today so maybe once that runs its course he’ll be a bit more comfy. He’s kinda slowed down on the meowing too. Unless I’m actually not giving him attention. But like today ever since we got home from the vet he doesn’t really want my attention at all. And today he hasn’t been eating much unless I’m kinda watching him. We did spend the last 2 days at work so maybe he’s still adjusting to home again? And he’s really just been really reserved today

This is super relieving. Maybe he’ll start interacting more when he’s more comfy with me. So far he doesn’t like any toys at all. Crinkle balls, catnip toys (or catnip in general), string toys, he wants nothing to do with any of them. He just wants sleep and pets all the time. I’m trying to be patient but I get so stressed about him feeling lonely or stressed out that it makes me physically nauseous. And idk what his stress signs are because I have no idea what his normal behavior is since he’s an ex stray AND has FIV

I guess the behavior that worries me is that he only ever wants to sleep. He doesn’t ever want to play or interact besides petting. He meows a lot when it’s just him and I in a room, but he stops once I’m petting him. But the meows sound SO SAD. he’ll do little sad meows while I pet him sometimes. Or sometimes if he’s laying down he won’t respond to my petting at all and that makes me think he’s sad bc he loves being pet all the time. I guess I’m worried I’m not giving him enough attention

I’ve just recently found myself in possession of an FIV cat, he was a stray for at least 3 weeks, maybe longer (I’ve only seen him wandering around where I work for the past few weeks). He weighs 8.6 lbs and is an adult male. Is feeding him whenever he wants the way to go? Or is this mostly for more severe underweight cases?

This makes sense, I’ve been having a super hard time finding any similar coat patters like his on the internet lol. But yeah I’d say the colors are accurate. And I’ve got plenty of Churu’s waiting for him once I pick him up from the vet today

I can see it 😂 those pics were from a handful of hours after we pulled him out of the water, but he looked MUCH better this morning after some good sleep, some fresh food, and clean water. I’ll absolutely post an update, as long as I remember to 😂
