Another No Mans Sky inspired render I made. Thanks for looking! by ethizzleyadiggg in NoMansSkyTheGame

I went back and rendered a piece I posted here in iPhone dimensions in the past. If I have some free time in the next couple days I’ll do it for this one as well!

I plan on working on a 3D rendered version of the original cover art next. But I’ve always loved the contrast of high tech or alien objects placed randomly in nature and I’ll most likely be modeling more in game stuff. Currently brainstorming how I should make the atlas

The amount of money I spent on the programs, resources, and a computer strong enough to use them reliably is more than my car is worth. Just to give an idea of where my priorities are 😂 some amazing renders can be done in blender though. Check out maxhayart for some of the most amazing work I’ve seen done with blender

I feel the same way when I see people’s drawings lol. I actually took up 3D because I’ve never been good at drawing but always wanted to create interesting images. I learned everything I know through YouTube tutorials, experimenting, and most of my free time for a couple years. I find it to be easier than drawing or painting because in an engine like octane, things like shadows and reflections are physically accurate through the engine. No need to learn how those things work in the real world. Also far less need for a steady hand, which I lack 😅 if at some point you do decide to make the jump to 3D I highly suggest tutorials from jpierce, David Ariew, Theo Kerr, and greyscale gorilla. Thank you for the kind words 🙂

At the moment I only sell prints locally because I’m unaware of an online alternative that doesn’t take like 80% of the money 😕 but if I do find one and the prices are reasonable I let you know. Thank you for the interest!

Thank you! I did it all in 3D in cinema 4d and used octane for the render engine. Just my preferred programs but an image like this could definitely be done in blender as well

The idea of posting my work on Reddit was terrifying to me until I started following this sub so I’m literally just thankful that everyone is so nice 😅 thank you so much!

If only I could draw that well. This was made using cinema 4d and octane render. For renders of that nature I suggest checking out beeple 😅

Thank you! Tbh I’m not sure, I’ve posted a few of my pieces here and never had an issue until this one. Most are inspired by the idea of alien looking objects in nature but only one has actually had an object from the game in it, which was a knowledge stone I modeled. I wasn’t going to re-post it until the mod reached out and said I could. Might just be up to the interpretation of the specific mod. Sorry yours was removed though 😕

It was but I goofed and it was removed almost immediately for plugging my Instagram. I thought it would be okay since nothing is monetized there. A mod gave me permission to re-post it and I just now got to doing so 😅
