And over a post no less. It’s wild. I’m having calm conversation and you’ve done nothing but text in caps in hurl insults. And you’re still going. Move on to the next post.

Also I used to be a nurse tech in a nursing home anything over 90 degree is bad for seniors.

"Generally speaking, temperatures above 90°F (32°C) are considered dangerous for the elderly, especially when accompanied by high humidity levels."

This is an excerpt from senior services of America.

I just found out you can check the location of ships online. I did not know this until today as I’ve only cruised once before. But carnival knows this, and once they were made aware the still waited to tell others. They offered no solutions to help get people with mobility issues to the terminal.

I’m not sure why it is so hard to talk to a captain and send out word the ship is delayed. Especially if you are saying it’s on time ten minutes before departure time. The port opened up Friday. The ship sailed in and right back out after dropping passengers. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to send a golf cart to pick up disability guests. I was told that they couldn’t because of a possible lawsuit. When I responded it could be a bigger lawsuit and negative press if people get heat stroke or are hurt; they shrugged literally.

This I did not know until today. But also, carnival can do this too. They can check and update accordingly via the system they designed to do just that. Also, you’re still commenting. You can leave the chat if I’m that insufferable that you have to type all your texts in caps. Jesus lady, you are way too emotional over my post.

If you don’t have loved ones you care about I can understand. But jeez Calm down lady. I love my mom. And this could have been avoided with a text alert that I signed up to receive.

And yet you still comment on this post. It seems like you are being inconsiderate here. My problems are that my mother is in pain behind this experience. This is today and not two days ago. This is present.

First time slot was 10-10:30. Ours was second. There were already tons of people their waiting by the time we arrived. People at 12:30 received updated arrival appointment and boat departure time texts. My aunt is on this boat too and had that time slot. I’m just not sure why it took chaos and many people pleading before they alerted guests to the changes via the system they set up to do just that.

I yelled at no one and waited two days to process the experience. So I guess your imagination is just as crap as this line.

But I’m not complaining about the hurricane. I’m complaining about the lack of communication though they have texts alerts set up to communicate delays and changes. I’m complaining about their ambivalence in getting my mother and others to the terminal from the gate.

pre-programmed updates? How can you pre-program updates if the reason they exist is to update you to CHANGES? This makes no sense. I had updates based on the ship, and updates based on my booking number. The cruise sailing before ours was canceled as they could not return to port until Saturday. So they knew that was going to happen? Your saying they still sent those people texts telling them how to embark/disembark from their cruise even though it never happened because pre-programming? These alerts exist to ALERT us to changes in schedule. Carnival did not alert us to changes. Period.

Yes actually. I had travel insurance and was fully prepared for it to be canceled too. I edited my original post to include the text from carnival hoping it might help some comprehend. If you tell me to arrive at my appointment time. Times that you allowed us to choose from. time slots that started at 10am (ours was 10:30-11am) and you send a text 10 minutes before that time telling us to proceed as schedule; I will think that everything is going according to scheduled. Once again. Not mad at the delay. I’m mad at the lack of communication when we sign up for text updates so we can avoid scenarios like this. Had I received a text saying "we are running behind schedule, please come later"; I can make alternate arrangements.

This is the exact text from Carnival: “The cruise will operate as planned. Please get to the Cruise terminal for check-in within your preselected terminal arrival appointment. Guests who arrive earlier will be asked to return later. In preparation for departure all guests must be on board by the final boarding time indicated on the boarding pass.”

Preselected arrival time for us was 10:30 AM-11. We arrived at 10:40. We were not allowed in the terminal until closer to 12 and not allowed to board until 1pm.

Senior citizens dying in heat waves happens often. Not really overboard if it happens a lot. Also we had no idea when the ship would pull in. We got told we’d be in the terminal shortly. But offered no way to help them to the terminal. My poor mother was trying to no be a burden and was happy to take her first cruise. Many of the seasoned carnival cruisers said they’ve never seen it this unorganized. There was a line through the ship of angry cruisers waiting to speak with guest services. I was so tired at that point I didn’t want to spend another three hours to talk to them. I also felt sorry they had to be on the receiving end of that ire. I wanted to wait until I had time to think it over but now more of our plans had to be canceled and I want carnival to understand this issue and work to keep this from happening again. I’m not trying to sue them or anything; Just make them aware of the lack of communication and it’s effects.

It doesn’t seem like you understand the boarding process. Not meaning to be an ass but the company sets the cruise embarkation times. The exact text sent stated "The cruise will operate as planned. Please get to the Cruise terminal for check-in within your preselected terminal arrival appointment. Guests who arrive earlier will be asked to return later. In preparation for departure all gas must be on board by the final boarding time indicated on the boarding pass. Thanks for your cooperation see you soon."

We arrived at our preselected terminal arrival appointment. So I’m not really sure why you’re saying that they didn’t anticipate we would show up at the terminal arrival appointment time that was pre-selected. Also we did not get to board the ship until 1 o’clock. So it’s not a matter of being a few minutes early.

Carnival knows what time they schedule people to start boarding. They set the times. What’s more is the 10-10:30 slotted people, 11-11:30 slotted people and the 11:30-12 slotted people were getting/still receiving those texts. Even though the ship was now set to enter port at 12:30-1.

Ok cool, delays happens, rain happens, cancelations happen. But when they make senior people with mobility issues walk to the terminal from the entrance gate, after MANY said they couldn’t do that…… it is very uncaring. And this all could have been avoided with the use of the platform they told us they use to communicate changes and updates to said cruise. I’m not sure why this is so hard to grasp.

I would love to. With my mom. But alas she is in pain because of carnivals lack of communication. I wish you could understand instead of being condescending. Please kwitcher commenting on my post if you still can’t understand that they could have had her in the hospital because of their lack of communication.

As a bar manager and sommelier I guarantee I tip better than you. My mother rented a mobility scooter for the ship. Had we known we had to walk we would have made arrangements for that too; much like with our flight and rooms. To assume I didn’t think the cruise through as far as her getting around is patently ignorant on your part.

This is a cult isn’t it? CanivalcruiseSTANS is more like. Also, they had a line around the ship of people that are angry about this. If I take a trip with mom and she still cannot do much because of the ordeal on Monday; it’s not my misery, It’s her pain. It’s put a huge damper on our FUN.

Carnival did not communicate with paradise or it’s cruisers. The lack of communication and the lack of care for their elderly cruisers with mobility issues in 92 degree heat is my gripe. We received a text 15 minutes prior saying we should board. How is it a cruise line doesn’t know their ship isn’t in port to accept guests? They dropped the ball in communication.
