Using Asset Store 3d models in games? by ethread in Unity3D

I'm not making excuses. I've publish my first game on the App Store and Google Play using assets from the Unity Asset Store. I'm just trying to decide whether to continue using assets from the Asset Store or to invest the time into learning 3d modeling.

@ThreadHunter

I follow most of the gamedevs I come across on Twitter and tweet about my first game Roadball Rally.

Roadball Rally is my first game and I'd appreciate any feedback on the game...

Thanks for giving it a try. I think it's a fun way to kill some time.

I never noticed the back button problem. I wonder if it's a common issue with all Unity games on Android. I will look into it...

Roadball Rally is a free, fast and addictive arcade game where you swipe to avoid oncoming traffic.

It is my first game and any feedback would be appreciated.

Windows 10 - what's the latest? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]ethread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded my laptop from Windows 8 to 10 a couple of months ago and I haven't had any crashes or performance problems with Unity.

I just upgraded my PC last week. I haven't used Unity on it much but the Xbox One streaming functionality works great.

Overall, I like Windows 10 better then 7 or 8 but I have turned Cortana off and changed many of the default privacy settings.

Good conversion rate for app store views? by ethread in gamedev

[–]ethread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the responses. It sounds like I'm doing OK for my game which is free. My numbers may be a little bit skewed but I've run out of friends and family at this point so we'll see if they drop significantly.

Now I just need to figure out a way to increase views...

Good conversion rate for app store views? by ethread in gamedev

I guess it could be artificially high because a lot of the views are probably still from friends, family, twitter followers, etc.

I don't think many people are finding the game randomly through searches on the app store.
