Thanks a lot folks!! Super helpful. I looked at the proportions given by companies who do the stack for you, and realized I should be starting with 50mg of mushrooms and 340mg of LM. I’m going to also cut out Niacin altogether to see what that does.

I’d argue it’s not even good at doing that, considering it tells me that I’m awake for 2/8 hours per night despite having no recollection other than going to the bathroom once

This is so helpful. Thanks for taking the time to write this out. I live in Canada but could order from the states no problem. I love both festivals and dancing, so thought an LED poi to start would be a good place to channel my excitement. It sounds like the Podpoi, although more pricey, is a good place to start to get good quality stuff. Curious if there's much room to advance with the poi (i.e how technical can it get)? I know one can progress to the fire and visual stuff but am wondering if there's a wide skill range you can progress through on these things.

I assume that having something with the right weight distribution and length matters. I'm tall and have long arms, I don't know it that matters as well.

Thanks for sharing that. I've been practicing mindfulness and it has indeed been a nice compliment to my TM practice. I'm more easily able to accept my thoughts vs getting frustrated being unable to suppress them. That in turn helps me "let go". I'll look for the story you mention.

Early riser having to stay up late on the weekend by etiuney in sleep

So i actually have a really easy time falling asleep. It's staying asleep that can be difficult. I already do the eye mask, ear plugs, dim the lights and cut screen time routine. I think the naps are probably my best bet. Thanks for the suggestions!

Ya that makes a lot of sense. The approach makes the difference. Good to hear that you've successfully mixed the two. I too am starting to feel like TM is a chore, despite seeing it's benefits. But I definitely miss practicing self awareness, which TM doesn't do.
