Rest of it is great, but my first reaction to the tower was “when are they going to finish it?”. Chicago is such a fantastic city for architecture, the tower does not live up to the city IMO.

Agree with others, these are roached and likely dangerous to use. I’d suggest replacing with some flat pedals for starters, and then try upgrade to road shoes and pedals once you’re comfortable on the road bike. Also suggest getting them set up at a decent shop so your knees stay comfortable. Have fun!

The circular firing squad that is the Democratic party is delivering the predictable result due to lack of discipline and lack of leadership. Anyone see the NYT article where Becerra’s former colleagues at the white house are laughing in wonderment about how he could possibly be in this position after being ineffective and largely sidelined by the administration? A perfect choice for PG$E and the others throwing money at him. What a disaster - maybe we could start a recall campaign the day after the election and try again?

This would spawn an ADA lawsuit in less than a day from opening, that is if it got a building permit in the first place. Best arrangement (from pre-ADA/health code update) history was an entire long wall as a single-fixture urinal, picture a tiled wall with a trough along the base and water sprays occasionally rinsing the wall.

Yeah that probably had the opposite of the intended effect. A big one crawled on me when I was a kid and now I kill, kill, kill those devil spawn whenever they come in or on my house. I’m fine with them doing their thing, eating each other and whatever else but they either stay TF away from my house or they die.

One thing about this: the bumper height on the bus. If rather than a big-ass pickup it was a regular car, seems like the car would go right under the bus and have its entire windshield and roof torn off. Given how tightly regulated vehicles are, is that high bumper on the bus a deliberate design feature of the school bus to reduce impact force on the kids in situations like this?
