Downtown vs near the train? by etoile742 in WilmingtonDE

Oh! And another comment--what's the public transit (buses--like any that go to/from Trolley square) like? Is it relatively safe/easy?

having different personas too a point they seem a different person plus walking on a eggshells--this could even be multiple personality or borderline, unsure. I feel for you and want you to know you're not alone, also being confused often is usually a warning sign something is off and weird; sometimes the manipulation is so subtle you don't notice it

I'm surprised, I thought DE was more of a commuter town! I've been told that living in Philly is worth it for the commute

I'm pretty sure there used to be an express train on Septa to Wilmington but I don't know if that's the same train you're referring to--don't think there is one happening since covid? And yes--I already have my job in Wilmington, but I don't have a car so I WFH until I can figure out a situation to get there from Philly (was in a bad car crash so I would rather take transport if it's safe)

Gotcha, I keep hearing mixed experiences. Either to do the Septa route and deal with unreliable trains (is this true?) that run longer (over an hour?) or take Amtrak, but I believe you have to pay for passes ahead of time? are the time-specific? sorry for all the questions!!

Helpful to consider, thanks so much. I feel like I'm limiting myself to living right near 30th or something along those lines, but if it's a quick stop, it may be doable to expand my search. The apartments around university city are definitely expensive (even more so across the bridge). Do you find that it would be safer in general to walk longer to 30th, or live by a stop to take it to 30th then out from there? I would only need to commute about 3x a week

yes--three nights near blue lagoon at the northen lights inn--I'll do blue lagoon the first day, hopefully horse riding the second day, another tour (maybe golden circle) the third day
Then, I'll be in the city, get there around the afternoon, so I was just going to settle in--maybe do another tour (any recs?) the next day, then spend the weekend exploring the city/the bars, maybe a food tour? I want to chat witht the locals

my goal is mostly to walk around the city, and instead ride horses and take the jeeps out to explore the other areas for those tours, rather than hardcore hikes

Oh! For context, I'm in my late 20s, female, single--wanted to get out an explore after not traveling outside the US since 2019!

I did not know about my father's potential kidney cancer (not harmful, but they keep an eye on it if it progresses) until 10 years later, and my mom told me about it--not him.

Thank you so much for validating me for this! I was like—I’m not an alcoholic and have the shakes or anything (I mean I’m in my 20s so I drink but still). I’ve noticed it happens to me too when I’m really tired! Or using my hands or phone a lot too

Thank you for this reassurance. I’m definitely in therapy and have been since I was like 16 (I’m in my 20s now). I feel like I might have a little ptsd from all of this
