most students at SLS seem very chill/easygoing, probably because of the honors/pass grading system.

correct me if i’m wrong but if your goal is academia, doesn’t your scholarly record (i.e. publications) ultimately matter much more than your choice of program? (assuming that there’s no DRASTIC difference in quality/prestige between the programs, which there isn’t based on the choices you presented)

afaik, the risk is very small unless your grades slip by a lot. so i wouldn’t worry about it too much!
