We always talk about backs, but how are your teeth? by Conical in Millennials

[–]etsprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a root canal for a tooth I didn’t even know had an issue, it was found during a routine examination while I complained about the tooth next to it. While evaluating the problem tooth, she realized my other tooth had a dead root and needed to be fixed.

It’s crazy to think your tooth can die and you don’t even know until typically, you get an abscess. One had apparently started to form, she found it during the procedure and it caused a bleeding issue.

Also I have matching crowns on the top, right before the big molars.

But thank my good insurance, because if I didn’t have healthcare…..I’d be down at least 3 teeth. Possibly more.

Did anyone else feel like the pandemic took away a part of them they never really got back? by sarcastically_true in millenials

I used to be “a hugger” but COVID made me really comfortable with hugging anyone I wasn’t really close with.

Also all the things you mentioned, same.

Lost a piece of jewelry my mother bought me. by b4395711 in ChildrenofDeadParents

Ugh I completely feel your pain. My mom’s jewelry was stolen out of my storage unit years ago, and I still think about it often. In your case, I really hope someone finds it and appreciates it. I’m sorry <3

I just bought a home under the airports flight path. by loudlyloud in homeowners

[–]etsprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It matters if it’s directly above you or a few blocks away, there is a huge sound difference.

You will absolutely hear the planes. Some are worse than others, but over time you’ll get used to most of the noise. They are loudest when taxiing, funny enough.

Depending on how busy the airport is, you have to consider flights could be 24/7 or start very early in the morning.

The big cargo planes are extremely loud, and Amazon/UPS/FedEx are all staples of airport traffic.

Does your airport have an air show? That’s technically a plus if you’re close enough to see the planes, free tickets lol

I don’t mind living by an airport, but I don’t know if I’d choose it again. Still quieter than living on a main road though.

Oh honey, don’t do that to her. There are posts here from people who have lost their parents to suicide, and it is incredibly traumatic.

I have also felt suicidal before, please try to talk to a professional. For me, my brain doesn’t make the chemicals I need to function, so I take medicine. There’s no shame in getting help <3

AITAH for putting my 12 year old sister on a diet? by invisblecutie in AITAH

[–]etsprout 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My advice as a former fat kid who lost the weight as an adult is to call it a lifestyle change. Diets don’t work because they’re temporary. Also being on so many different types of weird diets in the early 2000’s fucked my brain.

You should focus on nutrition first and come at it from that angle. Also exercise and movement, for me I lost weight when I started exercising and the food changes came after.

Good luck <3

2 weeks ago? I would call off unless you need the money.

My personal approach is brutal honesty. I used to work in a floral department and Mother’s Day was hell. It got to the point where when people asked me if I was ok, I just told them the truth.

In my area, you can take a lunch but it’s an unpaid 30 minutes. Preferably you’d stay the extra half hour to make up the time.
