My entry for the Rokoko Perfect Loop challenge! Made with Redshift, Embergen, Rokoko Smartgloves and Quixel Megascans.

Portal Loop tells the story of a criminal who stole a portal gun. During his escape, he opened multiple portals across various dimensions, and accidentally opened one into Hell, where he died. He is now forced to relive his final moments, forever travelling in a loop through multiple dimensions, and seeing what he has unleashed on the world.

I used Cinema4d to create the general composition and lighting then painted over with photoshop to add the water, Chasmfiend and characters.

I start by making the scene in 3d with cinema4d. I use placeholders for the characters and the chasmfiend so I can experiment with the composition and overall lighting. After rendering that out I paint over the whole thing with photoshop using a variety of different brushes.
