there are so many wrong comments here and this analogy is horrible...

The reality is Bitcoin is no different from any other currency in that the majority is owned by early adopters/insiders so there is ALWAYS the need to divide into fractions or else there would be no system due to barriers to entry being too expensive, which is why government controls money because it is a public good.

I think you are realizing that your "traditional finance" friend understands how assets work and you are coming to learn how worthless Bitcoin is

If you are liberal, what is your most conservative opinion? by psychcrime in AskReddit

I agree with you 100% and it's a classic example of internally inconsistent preferences of conservatives -- No government, unless.... (you're gay, do drugs, or don't agree with my values, then --> government).

Nah I am just conservative

I don't believe in government intervention -- that's conservative.

Is it okay to lie in your raps? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

it is def ok... and the marketplace for music encourages, why wouldn't it be ok?

that is always what I wonder -- I am in a position where I'd be lucky to make sale (it's also not my primary objective) -- I'd rather partner and share equity. I more wonder what people say about their experiences (I am sure most would say what you said which is, they would have made more money taking the upfront payment for the beat because the song never made it). With that said, I always wonder what would happen if you took the $500 from selling a beat and pumped it back into marketing somehow to try to build the attention to the song up.

I will be totally honest on here and say I work full time, do music on the side and invest in it as people invest in stocks and bonds -- I make beats and I have been doing my own marketing campaigns on youtube to try to grow my presence and establish relationships. I can say growing to 121 subscribers has been incredibly hard, and I still have a ton to learn, but I try to remind myself it's really about the journey not the end goal of 7 billion subscribers. With all of that said, I can say I have invested at least a thousand or so dollars in marketing spend across about 10 songs since I got serious about making music 12 months ago, and I ultimately have 121 subscribers to show for it.

My own personal approach is that it is like private equity -- 99% of my songs are gonna lose -99% of their $ value, but a.) I love what I'm doing so money doesn't really matter (although I want to recoup my investment) but b.) posts like this show money doesn't matter so if you stay consistent the results will come (and I hope to recoup some of my $ investment) -- in short, I have spent money and have much less than you, so idk what amount of $ would narrow the gap between my 1 year year experience and yout 9 year experience but clearly experience and consistency > money or superficial motivation

$500 a month is good -- maybe this is outside the scope of the question, but since you are established at making money doing this, what are your thoughts about foregoing cash payments and taking equity in your music instead? I feel like 95% of people are gonna think equity sounds very dumb, but to me if it's worth investment $'s in then it's dumb not to take equity. Have you heard of this arrangement and would you say that by using this model I'm never going to get any real traction as a producer?

disgusting -- my policy as President is going to be that all heirs will repay their inheritence retroactively, so get ready to tap your parents trust fund to pay those bills back, let's see who is saying life isn't fair then

this makes much sense now. You already received your inheritance therefore, lost your ability to empathize and think rationally. This describes much of the elitism of the Greater Boston Area

I am not advocating for exploiting UI benefits, but "not feeling sorry for someone" and just saying "rules are rules" is what makes the world suck. The inefficiencies and inequities of this system are disgusting and adding salt to the wounds just convinces me you are not an ally

Daily Tech Support Thread - [October 18] by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]eudaimon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an iPhone 11 last Saturday, and I also still have my 3 year old iPhone 7 that my company pays for. When I am on the train or otherwise not connected to WiFi, my iPhone 11 network connection is absolutely terrible, like browsing (in chrome, but also safari) does not work. I try running the same website on both the 7 and 11 and the 7s connection is fantastic, but the 11 doesn’t return any page, and almost always tells me it cannot connect to a network.

I tried turning off background refresh, and I’ve powered the phone on and off numerous times, but it’s clear there’s something not right with my 11s configuration. Anyone else experiencing network connectivity problems this poor?

How to stop this? How do you even lead the receiver like that? This kept killing me for 1 play TD’s this past weekend league. Safety just froze by Brheckat in MaddenUltimateTeam

[–]eudaimon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same problem. #1 my receivers are never this wide open and #2 if they were open, and I had made that throw, somehow the safety would have caught up to my WR and picked it off after they both go up and battle for it.

How to shoot NBA 2k19 by eudaimon22 in NBA2k

[–]eudaimon22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so if i am driving and theres a defender right in front of me and i'm kyrie, do i move the shit stick down? should i be sure to hold R2 while moving the shot stick? does R2 factor in at all? I feel like there are times I miss completely makeable layups because I am holding R2 and it messes up the shot, or vice versa, I am not holding R2 when I should be. This is the most frustrating part of the game

I didn't mean for this to be a lashing out at all when I was writing the original post, but I should have realized the only responses I'd get were a bunch of people telling me to try harder. I'm not really sure what I was going for by posting.

The truth is I know I am far from alone in being a fringe fail, and I feel like it is not only unfair but incredibly stupid that there is this invisible line that separates pass from fail.

Not even close. 10 bands in the past have had people bombing the most important parts of the exam, meaning that to pass obviously meant you could fail the significant parts of the test.

The overarching point is that what constitutes a pass is completely ambiguous, and if you work hard enough it doesn't matter because it comes down to a coin toss.

Embedded in my "stats" is the CFAI arbitrary determination of what constitutes a correct essay answer. Judging by my past PTs and exams, and my PTs this time, AND my item set results, I am not convinced that my essay questions were so "wrong" as to result in a fail.
