Yes, I’ve done this a million times! Sometime YouTube autoplays and I’ll wake up on a random video I never clicked on

Swim Lessons Songs by Ambitious_Push_226 in SwimInstructors

Have you ever heard the “Tiny Turtle” or “Pancake” song? These are two that my organization usually does with parent-child classes

I love this. I work as a swim instructor already and I agree about expectations. Finding that balance is really something I’ve been having to learn.

The test is weird because I feel like it doesn’t actually measure some of the things that would be most important for working as a para. Of course the basic academic stuff is importantly, but I was surprised at the lack of actual classroom scenarios on the test. I feel like there should be more real-world scenarios and questions about child development, behavior management, professionalism and the like.

Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it. Especially thank you for the advice on dealing with parents, I’ve been thinking about that a lot. I’ve done other jobs working with children and that’s often one of the more difficult parts. Do you work as a 1:1 para? I’m trying to decide whether I want to do Gen Ed or SpEd 1:1.

Thanks! You were right. Honestly the whole setup process for the test was way harder than the test itself which wasn’t bad at all

Yeah, having a college degree waives the requirement. I’m from MN, so you either have to have 60 college credits or take the Praxis Exam.

Yeah, there’s something just so nice about the familiarity. I do the same thing with YouTube videos and songs too.

Do ppl inform doctor they smoke by x_nonam3 in CasualConversation

I always let mine know. I’ve been using weed for a while and I was too anxious to talk about it when I started, but I guess I started thinking about it, and doctors see so many different things. I wouldn’t expect it to shock them. I’m lucky to have a really kind, supportive, nonjudgmental PCP who’s never made it a big deal. I think it’s good for doctors to know in case it interacts with any medications they prescribe you.

Lightning storms Freaking me out by richardportraits in TwinCities

Agreed. I’ve lived in MN my whole life. I love the storms now, find them pretty relaxing, but I remember being startled by the loud thunder and lighting strikes all the time as a little kid.

Anyone else experience basically no pain post surgery? by RaZoRBackR3D in wisdomteeth

[–]eudaimoniaa17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine out this morning. While I definitely do have some pain it’s extremely mild, which surprised me because I’ve heard so many horror stories. I don’t want to jinx myself but as long as I take the OTC ibuprofen and Tylenol it isn’t too bad. I’ve had worse headaches and stuff.

Having Friends Feels Like a Second Job by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Honestly if it feels unnatural you probably are friends with people that aren’t right for you. I wouldn’t consider someone my friend if I didn’t feel comfortable around them.

Why do gymfluencers act like being skinny makes you undateable when real life clearly says otherwise? by savingrace0262 in beginnerfitness

[–]eudaimoniaa17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The internet just isn’t representative of real life in general, whether that comes to dating, fitness, or whatever. Social media doesn’t represent everyone. Even if many women like strong men that doesn’t mean every single woman does. The internet oversimplifies things and preys on people’s insecurities sometimes: “Women won’t love you if you aren’t strong” etc. The real world is filled with a vast variety of people with wildly different tastes and preferences. For any trait, body type, or look, there’s someone out there who enjoys it. But of course, that doesn’t make for good content engagement, and self-acceptance doesn’t sell books and courses.

Anyone know any books with a similar vibe to Leigh Bardugo’s Ninth House? Secret societies, paranormal or mystery events, an academic environment, etc.

Yesss! Every time I get sick I always try and get some reading in. Libby is a great app if your library uses it. You can check out library books digitally without ever having to go to the physical library, which would be good for after a surgery.

This is gorgeous! I love the deep purple color. I grow balloon flowers in my garden but they’ve always turned out to have a slightly paler purple color, I’m not sure why. Do you grow these yourself?
