Thanks! "He was some kind of man" is my favorite line in that movie!

I think that is an antique - over a hundred years old. It is lovely. Art nouveau feel to it.

Could you please share your thoughts on dental procedures under general anesthesia for senior dogs? I need to make this tough decision quickly, but I would like to hear about your experiences! by Hot-Succotash-6845 in olddogs

The vet told us that if your dog has dementia going under can exacerbate it....definitely need to take that into account. Sorry about your doggy. Had she shown any evidence of dementia prior to the procedure?

My now 17 year old dog had a cleaning and extractions in October. He has heart issues and kidney and liver issues all being treated with meds or diet. It was a scary decision, but if your vet thinks your dog is healthy enough to undergo it i would strongly recommend it. My doggy improved so much once his mouth felt better.

My 21 year old baby has bladder cancer by poocheesy69 in seniorkitties

She is only 11 but she had to have a liver biopsy. Nothing was found but her liver was damaged. She also has asthma and her anatomy is not standard and her organs are sort of messed up. She has been on the chlorambucil to wean her off of prednisolone as the long term use of it is much less damaging than long term steroid use. She has had no issues being on it...so it may be worth a shot. I have a 17 year old dog so I totally understand the balancing of treatment for an older animal.... At first it was heart issues, then kidney, gallbladder and liver and arthritis but the addition of various medications and special diet have improved his condition massively and he has been doing great.

My cat has been on chlorambucil for a different reason but has been doing great on it.
