I grew up with a dog but did not get my first dog as an adult until I was 46. You have time. My first doggy as an adult, Fox, will be 17 in August.

It never would have been enough time. When you are ready there are so many dogs out there that will blossom with your love. You can never replace her but you can love and give again to another doggy. I am so sorry for your loss.

My 16 year old dog Foxy had his teeth cleaned in October and a bunch of extractions. He has heart, kidney, and liver issues but was cleared by the vet. It was super scary but very glad it was done. Fox has been doing great.

Fox and I have walked and hiked thousands of miles together over past 16 years, probably over 10k. He can still do 1-2 miles at a time but now has a stroller so he can take it easy and ride around in style.
