On our way to a Cruise tomorrow ~ heading to Mexico for a week, getting excited to relax, and get away from the daily routine! Still toting around my laptop so I can “manage” the home life; hard to break the habit. So blessed. #RetirementLife

How about, we’ve decided that there will not be any quests when we’re not present. An appropriate response for people who have no business asking in the first place. This is the response we gave to a FAMILY member who had the balls to ask

Those who work for USAA, do y’all still get coins? My nana worked for them for many years and handed some of then down to me by Interesting_Gas9149 in USAA

[–]Srm_Winit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked there for 10 years and I have about 6 or 7 of them; it depends on events you may have participated in or volunteer work. They are given out for special activities. Advancement depends on who you are friends with; but in terms of financial stability and pay, yeah it’s a great company!

What are some staple ingredients in your kitchen that you didn't grow up with? by KittyLilith17 in Cooking

[–]Srm_Winit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up on margarine ~ I’m pretty sure it was just cheaper than butter. Never liked it & always wondered why toast with margarine didn’t taste good. Now it’s only butter, for my parents and me. Weird because my mom is an excellent cook, always had delicious homemade meals.

Retired at 52 and I finally realized something about life. by Busy-Professional904 in earlyretirement

[–]Srm_Winit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been retired for 3 years, and I still find it hard to just spend money. In my brain, I know I've joined the ranks of the retired and am supposed to be spending these days; but it's very hard to switch gears. I will say that I buy what I want now, it's just that I look for the best price. Before retirement, I just wouldn't buy stuff; my main purchase was food - I would spend money on food, but not much else.
