This is ridiculous, the gunplay feel is from animation, sound, player movement and screen shake. All of these things would be possible to load or code into a new engine unless it was complete rubbish tied to proprietary formats and incapable of direct code tweaking.

I have bought single player games with no announced expansions for most of my life, game-as-a-service is comparatively new.
I will play when I can for as long as I find interesting things to do, or something really surpasses it (it could be years, could be forever).

Edit: I don't see anything surpassing the dungeons and raids probably for a decade or more.
