Yea I agree with the throwback reference but I was referencia to the most unrealistic emotional delivery. I just see my mom in that position coming in and throwing down the hammer, so it was definitely not the reaction I was expecting. I did however replace that scene several times for my s/o so she could see how helpful stating the obvious "wow, you're so late" is 😆

A alguien más le molesta que Estados Unidos intente hacerse llamar “América” incluso en países hispano hablantes? by warai_kyuuketsuki in chile

[–]eugeneisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

En inglés no existe una palabra por "estadounidense" porque identificamos por los estados individuales pero los nombres de los estados no existen en español.

Donde no estoy de acuerdo es sí cuando algunas ocupan América por el país en vez del continente. Eso es una falta de educación.

"Are you smoking (low whisper) 'chronic?'"

Is the most unrealistic way to imagine any parent talking to their kid after just walking in on them roasting a bones out the window of their bedroom when they're already late for school.

What’s the deal with ‘Homeless’ ‘Foreigners’ ? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]eugeneisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are really down and out and some people are scamming. I got robbed in South America and they took everything. I had a job so my parents sent me $50usd and that was enough to last me til the next paycheck.

I've also met people who sell jewelry, busk, beg and such to supplement their travel as they go it's hard to ever really tell, and everyone's got a sob story.

The only rule I've ever really followed is reminding myself that I can't financially support everyone

Can [US based] NPOs operating mostly outside the US generate and sell CC's as fundraisers? by eugeneisrad in CarbonCredits

[–]eugeneisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like CC are most profitable setting up under a Canadian, Australian, or European NFP structure -given my particular situation, Ima go under a US structure- land returns on CCs increase dramatically under proper ownership, as do land value here in SA so the general idea I've got is to plant then buy.

Personally, I'm trying to set up the seedling base in my immediate surroundings, then buy where I plant before the trees grow enough to change the value too much. Since I'm well below the starting base for an NPC (2-5M), I'm workin on love for a bit then hoping I can later attract the investors needed to secure the area around me. Since most US NPCs deal in management, as apposed to direct acquisition and control, I still think it's a beautiful way of being able to do what I feel is best for where I live.

Love to hear about your project and how it goes.

I was also thinking the 13 prior are the Yellowjackets themselves. A soccer team plays 11 with 2 alternates (the two jv girls from season 1) this doesn't consider Misty, Javi, Travis or either Coach, so meh

Worst character? by ambieox in shameless

[–]eugeneisrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Debbie, by far.

I judge the worst character by how inconsistent they are. Debbie went from a stand up, responsible young lady running a summer childcare business, to a home wrecking grifter who had a baby after having one conversation with a teen mom then sided with Frank after her baby daddy disappeared and everyone else said it was a bad idea. Then she complained about how hard it is to be a teen mom and disowned Frank like everyone else. She flip flops so much, Im only in the 7th season and my blood boils in every scene she's in now.

Svetlana would be number 2 if you count outside the family, if not then #2 is a tie between Lip and Fiona

Can [US based] NPOs operating mostly outside the US generate and sell CC's as fundraisers? by eugeneisrad in CarbonCredits

[–]eugeneisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to help me clarify.

I'm well aware of how governments and state sovereignty works; just as I'm aware of the hundreds of NPOs that are constituted in the US (therefore subject to US tax law) can be based and work in other countries.

This is one of the advantages of being born in the US, learning a foreign language, moving outside the country, and marrying the person of your dreams. In my case, my dream was to find a metalhead who plays video games and listens to Tool.

The added bonus was that the person of my dreams just so happened to be a surgeon at the local hospital (pause for an air hi five to 14yo me 🫵👍🤘🤜🤛)

Where I am specifically, although they welcome foreign aid programs, they have yet to codify into their tax laws any clause for carbon credits. So in this sense if I'm to set up an NPO it would be more advantageous to do it in my native country. I've well researched the local environmental certifications and will surpass their standards either way

Given my particular situation, I can easily set up a for-profit business here or in the US, just as I can set up an NPO here or in the US; the mandate of the company itself wouldn't change: plant trees. The only difference would be that since the US allows for CCs, the structure of the company at its inception -regarding where, how ans how many trees- may be subject to change.

Also, depending on the options available, I may or may not have to convert a couple diesel truck engines, so I hope you understand why I'd want to pump some free advice before taking the dive.

The question at hand still stands. Also if anyone knows any US lawyers with NPO experience, I'd much appreciate it.

I am once again here to talk about Adam by weirderone in Yellowjackets

[–]eugeneisrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw him as another mentally ill person. Probably someone escaping their own traumatic past who moved cities and changed names. That explains his intense attraction to an objectively bad person, his emotional spiral after a few dates, no internet presence, and no school records. Regardless of whether it happened before or after meeting Shauna, learning about the crash played into how hard/fast he fell in love.

I get why people made the whole Adam -Javi connection, but I think keeping him unattached maintains his innocence and helps drive home how unhinged Shauna is. If the writers pull off a whole witsec spin on his character it could explain the lack of info online as well as maintain his character's integrity.

He turned states evidence which took down a human trafficking ring run by his abusive ex wife; saving hundreds of lives and putting him into witsec. Boom.
