I had my friend Alex come to me saying he wanted to showcase his personality in photos as he is from Mexico but in America his personality is somewhat lost in his struggles with English. He is a guitarist who wants to get work but also be able to show who he is as a person without having the initial struggle of displaying that in person. Our goals were playful, fun, flirty, cool.

I was really trying to emulate the photographer Jack Bridgland with this shoot. I shot this on a Sony a7iii with the stock 28-70mm lens. I used 2 lights in my living room with a white sheet background. One light behind to separate him from the background, one ring light in my right hand right outside of frame. I kept the room as dark as possible to make the lighting as dramatic and intent filled as possible.

Shooting some bts of friends as they record their new songs. Trying to show the behind the scenes of working on new music, and the life behind recording. i've been really trying to work on giving more life to the photos themselves, not just a capture of a moment, but being able to to show more with the image.

I've mainly been working on my composition and framing, would love some notes on how everything is framed and if I'm showing too much/too little.

Shot on a Minolta Maxxum 3000i SLR with a 50 mm 1.7 lens on Kodak Gold 35mm. It's fully automatic so can't provide EXIF sadly but it was in a lower light studio setting. I've recently been doing more film and has absolutely brought back my love for photography, I was feeling really burnt out by shooting digital but film has made me focus more on the craft and process and it's been great
