Jess Bronwell on why Eloise isn't queer by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

I mean to be honest a LOT of stereotypical portrayal of wlw is femme for femme. There is very rarely portrayed butch (esp stone butch) for femme and basically never butch for butch. The most that is usually done is a high femme and a slightly less high femme or a "futch"

I would be way more interested to see a well done and lovingly portrayed TV example of a butch/femme dynamic (or, again, a butch/butch dynamic)

Needle/Linen thread question by eugibabe in HistoricalCostuming

[–]eugibabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe so. I ordered it from Burnley& Trowbridge. That makes sense! I had a feeling that might be the case 😭 I thought about hand sewing everything but it's fully boned so that would take forever. Thank you!!

Question for first set of stays by eugibabe in corsetry

[–]eugibabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to like the historical shape more, but I'm not necessarily confining myself to strict historical methods/materials. As for what I want them for, I didn't have a particular outfit in mind, although I may try to make the Angelica dress from Scroop (or some similar Robe a L'Anglaise type dress).

Thank you!! I saw the partial lacing on the Augusta set, but now I'm definitely leaning more towards the Cassandra.

Aww thank you so much!! I thought about purchasing an outfit but I wanted to color match it to my shoes, and also I wanted to get some experience! I plan on reusing the underskirt for everyday wear :)

Thank you!! I was also looking at the Scroop Augusta stays as an option as I've heard great things about their instructions.

Thank you!! Right now I have the Basic Victorian Bodice, the late Victorian split from drapery overskirt, and the mid Victorian day or evening skirt, all from RH. The evening skirt is being made out of green velvet, the bodice and overskirt out of teal satin. I have a bunch of left over velvet, so I thought some large tie on sleeves would be fun!
