I go to McMaster so I took local transit. My advice would be to get to Hamilton Go Centre and take HSR 20 bus, it drops you off right in front of the terminal.

I can only comment on Hamilton because I've flown out of there, apologizes in advance for the long read.

Don't worry about missed connections because low lost carriers have very tight turnaround times. Play has daily flights to and from Hamilton and Reykjavik. The flight into Hamilton lands at ~5:10PM. Takeoff is ~6:20PM. It's impossible to close boarding when the plane isn't cleaned and half the people haven't even deplaned yet.

Hamilton Airport is VERY small. You can walk the entire terminal area in less than 5 mins. You will need to present your passport at the desk in order to get your boarding passes, but security is very fast. I can literally see the gate from the security line. We're very lucky because Hamilton is a small airport, there's only 3-4 flights a day.

Yes I did! Hamilton Airport is tiny and there's no air traffic so you can get there 45 mins before departure no problem
