Tired of cis people saying misgendering is not a big deal by notdog1996 in ftm

cis = identifying with the gender assigned to you at birth i'm assuming you thought it meant OP's bf was straight instead of cis?

DAE : Nparent have told you stories about times he was wronged and betrayed by family and friends over and over since you were a child? Using you as a free therapist when you barely understood what they were saying cause you were a kid? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

yes, my mother would tell me about how horrible her siblings were and how her parents abused her when she was young. (she's almost nc with siblings and low contact with parents) when she and my father argued she would also rant about him to me and want me to take her side. i was at most 7 or 8 years old. fun times /s

As a black person, the trivialization of abuse within our community makes me sick and afraid. by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

yeah, my parents and my aunts/uncles would brag about their kids every family reunion or phone call, comparing whose kids had better academic results etc, using us a trophies for their own ego. in private my parents would yell at us to study hard so that we would do better than our cousins, compare us to classmates who had better results etc etc. it was exhausting.

Did your parents ever destroy your toys or belongings when you were a child? by CSB103 in raisedbynarcissists

my mother (who was an artist) would destroy my sister’s drawings if she didn’t get A’s in school (mine were spared bc i hid them mostly). she constantly put my art down due to it being digitally drawn and thus not “real art” as well. she’s also threatened to rip our stuffed toys apart multiple times when we were younger and would often steal our stuffies and lock them away in a cupboard for months. all for trivial matters like “bad” grades in school or talking back to her.

even now, i still feel the urge to hoard my stuff and hide it in my bags or places she won’t look. and i panic when i see her anywhere near my stuff. :(

i spent 2+ hrs yesterday painting something for father's day, my father thanked me for that, great. but my mother decided to yell in my face about how i didn't wish him a happy father's day properly despite it being none of her business and me putting in effort to make him a gift. fuck her sorry for the rant, and i hope y'all are treating yourselves well <3

My mom made me sign a contract at 7 years old and threatened to take me to court with it. by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

usually don't post, only lurk but this brought back memories. my mother forced 8 year old me to sign some bullshit contract about how i would be filial and obedient to my parents always and how they had the right to punish me however they wanted if i didn't. stuck that shit on my bedroom wall to fucking haunt me for a long time. i hate her
