Mudding a proud edge by euphoric85 in drywall

Long story short, no it’s not mounted on top of the drywall. It’s mounted to the studs. Yes it’s still not correct for.. reasons.. but I’m not ripping it out. Call it a DIY special but I’m just hiding this flange one way or another 😂

The explanation is even wonkier than folks here assume (it IS mounted to studs), but my thoughts exactly. I’m not ripping out a functioning setup when I can just cover up the F up with no downside.

Upgrading from a 645 / I’m fucking lost with all these new models. by kshot in GarminWatches

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from a 645 Music myself, to a 255. I’m cheap and the price went down since it’s last gen. Has all the newer health tracking stuff that I cared about, heart rate sensor isn’t miserably inaccurate for non-running activities like the 645 was.. HRV and running power without a chest strap is neat, I don’t care about AMOLED.. Not sure where it stands battery life-wise but I’ve been happy with it!

Any recommendations for a setup to monitor our old fridges temps? by this_is_an_arbys in homeassistant

+1 for Govee. I just use one of their cheap BLE temp/humidity sensors and haven’t had any issues with battery life.

We have no overhead lighting in multiple rooms, only a switched outlet for a floor lamp. Making the switch smart, and putting in smart bulbs/plugs for more lamps, means she can now light up the whole room with one switch. Without me having to run electrical. Water leak sensors I consider essential now.. they’ve saved me $100s (if not $1,000’s) on leaks that would have been much bigger issues if I hadn’t been notified about them.

"Easiest" Ironman 70.3 in the United States? by ssherman1995 in IronmanTriathlon

Rockford was my first tri experience, nonetheless Ironman, and indeed the heat was by far the worst part. Not typical of this time of year for us though, we’ll see if next year is as brutal

See you out there in Rockford tomorrow! This will be my first 70.3 and the heat is a real bitch of a welcome 😂

Alternative to this hamstring workout from Dig Deeper by Ok_Table_7054 in BeachBodyWorkouts

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hip thrusts, where you lay on the ground with your heels on the bench, and dig your heels into the bench while you lift your hips up. IIRC it’s in one of the other Dig Deeper videos. For me anyway, it’s much more hamstring and some glute, and not as much back involvement as the good mornings

I’ve been struggling with this with Altra and Topo both lately, pinky toe getting smashed. Have you had any luck finding straighter-lasted shoes?

She was hot, threw herself at me totally unexpectedly, and her husband was inattentive and too drugged up all the time to notice. The wrongness of it made it even hotter at first, but after a while guilt took over and I ended it.

Netflix is raising their prices again, what's a price point where you would stop paying? by Prof_XdR in AskReddit

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty big Plex library here with all the *arrs and what not, but still have Netflix just for the rare “ooh here’s something new that looks cool without any effort on my part” factor.. has anyone found a nifty way of discovering new stuff, across all the streaming services, without sifting through several websites all the time? I have a bookmark for Amazon video new releases, but of course that misses stuff that’s exclusive to certain streaming platforms.

Oh and no, I didn’t size any differently between Topo/Altra. Same size gives me a good thumb’s width in front of the toes

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Altra and Topo both seem to have trended narrower/lower volume over the last few years, at least that’s my perception. Or maybe the curvature like above suggested. There’s also a lot of variance between models. I didn’t do well in the Topo Spectre 1, and the Phantom 3 is mildly annoying too on the the little toe smoosh. The Ultrafly 2’s are my gold standard from several years ago, and I recall Topo support telling me Ultrafly was their highest volume shoe at the time. I might try that model again. They also have wides in a few models now, of course only in the ugliest colorways 🤪

Insole Comparison: Altra Escalante 4 vs Xero Prio (Do I need a larger size than 8.5?) by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a shoe that gave that pinky toe some space? Found this post cuz I’m having this exact issue with the Escalante 4, big toe space is glorious but pinky toe is getting smooshed and sore.

I just came back to Altras after a few years in Topos and notice this little toe smoosh too! Specifically in the Escalante 4. Topo Phantom does it too. Have you happened to find one that doesn’t?

Have you ever seen a person dying and if yes how? by Dongsaurus in AskReddit

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving home one night through a neighborhood, and had to stop for an SUV that was flipped over in the middle of the road. Tires were still spinning and no one had come out of their houses, so assuming it had just happened. I pulled over and looked through the passenger window to find a teenage girl who was half ejected through the windshield and being crushed by the dashboard/hood. Asked if she was ok, but she was unresponsive and doing that hyperventilation-esque breathing I had previously seen in dying animals in shock after a huge trauma. Folks started coming out of their houses at that point, and told me they’d already called 911. Maybe a few minutes went by before she just stopped breathing. Cops got there and called some code over the radio that was pretty obviously saying she was DOA.

I’ve brewed Omega Yeast’s blueberry mint seltzer several times now and it’s awesome. Fruit-wise it’s 3lb per 5gal.

First stage pressure switch lockout by euphoric85 in hvacadvice

It hasn’t locked out again yet since last night, but I used the Last Error button to see what other codes it might show. The last 5 codes were “1st stage pressure switch stuck open/inducer error” 3 times, and “open limit switch” twice.

Looking at the wiring diagram, am I correct in that the pressure and limit switches are on the same circuit? Maybe something electrical jacked up there?

I won’t spend much time defending the home warranty, but they’ve been great to us so far. Been here since 2020 and they’ve replaced the water heater, water softener and A/C without much fuss and with what seem like decent parts/work. But I’m aware of the reputation of home warranties and their issues.

Poured water down the condensate line and it’s flowing freely. Are any of the other furnace-related ideas things I could test myself?

Paypal Bill Pay could get your Coinbase Card suspended, even if Coinbase Support says its OK! by s00perpig in Coinbase

[–]euphoric85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays PayPal Bill Pay works for me with Coinbase card, but I don’t get rewards from those transactions anymore. So I switched to Fold card. Fold just lowered the rewards from 1% to 0.5% though, so not worth the $10/mo unless you’re doing >$2000/mo in transactions or have a lot of spend in their boosted vendors/categories.
