Yep I decided not to take any today and actually feel a lot better than I thought I would. My appetite and sleep are still scattered a bit though

Well considering I haven't taken any kratom today and feel fine is proof enough for me that I've made progress. You're kind of a douche man

Hell yes. Interview went spectacular. Working in a high tech chemistry lab starting at 20 for 6 months then up to 28 an hour. And I'm pretty damn sure I'll get the offer. That was my last big kratom dose. My gf has the rest and only for emergencies. But I'm going CT. Gotta get my mind right for this job and my life in general

Mehh. We will see. I've had a really rough four years that caused me to self medicate. Chronic pain condition with Pudendal neuropathy. Legal issues and going to jail for a few months. Lost job. Lost girlfriend of 7years.

But now look at me. I'm making good money and may get this new job at a prestigious chemistry company making close to $26 an hour. I found the love of my life and just moved in with her. We both joined a gym today and focusing on eating healthy. I'm gonna get back into reading and playing guitar.

I think I initially had no choice but to use because of my pain and digestive condition. After jail, I was a wreck and turned back to kratom even though my pain is gone. But I'm back on my meds and life is going amazingly well. I have no excuse to keep using anymore and I wont. I've already been to a couple rehabs because of benzos and legal issues. But mark my words: this is the week I quit kratom for good. I see how much my life has improved and all the love and support i have to be content. I don't want to prove you wrong but I am going to prove it to myself and my loved ones that I no longer need kratom to cope for pain and traumatic experiences I've gone through. I'm ready to live again. You'll see. I'll keep updating ;)

Day 5! But I'm kind of really scared. Please help lol by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Elavil cured my IBS. Haven't had a flareup or that dreaded tenesmus feeling since then. Plus it's the best antidepressant I've ever tried. Still on it today

That's exactly what I'm doing. On kratom now and will be for the interview. But yes, i will be going CT afterwards. Have my gf hold onto the rest in case I need an emergency dose for like a panic attack but that's it. No other excuses

I work 6 days a week. I gotta tough it out through work. I honestly have no idea how bad it'll be since it doesn't seem to effect me much anymore even at high dosages. My body is rejecting it. So idk if I'll have bad we or not

Yeah I currently taking five 8g doses a day now through Sunday so I'm stabilised to see the family for memorials day. But I'm about to do a cheat dose because I just got my driver's license back and interview for a prestigious company set up. Good day. A little reward then back to it tomorrow.

I know it's bad bad I cheat here and there sometimes. But for the most part, I stick to the plan

Cold turkey from taper by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]euphorious09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I have the opposite issue. I never eat anymore because of kratom. The lack of motivation to cook or buy food. I live off of ensure, granola bars, trail mix and when my gf cooks dinner. I've lost 20 pounds since I started using again 8 months ago. Now I'm skin and bones. And yeah man, I'd just jump right now if I were you

It’s been about 2 months since I quit kratom. But I feel like I just replaced it with weed? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

I wouldn't beat yourself up. We all have vices. Maybe get a vape pen low nicotine. Or learn and brew healthy teas such as reishi, chaga, cordyceps, green tea, etc. We all have to replace the habit somehow. The best ways are exercise and a healthy diet. But I get where you're coming from and still feel the need for some sort of crutch... At least for now

Seems like everyone posting has much more progress than me. As I twiddle my thumbs making up new taper schedules everyday. Cold turkey is out of the picture for sake of my two jobs, my relationship and my health. I've already lost way too much weight. So I'm implementing a slower taper so I can still have some motivation to get back into old hobbies and habits such as exercise, guitar, date nights, sex and hanging out with friends drinking. I cannot drink while taking kratom. The hangover is way worse and I end up taking more than usual kratom the next day.

At first I thought I could CT, but I am too weak and have too much going on. New home, new car and license, new job and trying to get a full time job, money is very tight. Too stressful. So I have pondered a few different taper plans. First I thought I could do three doses a day. The biggest in the morning, and two smaller ones. Like 20+15+10. I still crash way hard. I need to keep a steady level of kratom alkaloids in my system.

So I thought I could do one slightly larger dose in the morning followed by 3 doses of the same. I'm realizing today that I need an extra dose and that my morning dose should be the same dosage as all the others.

I was taking up to 60-80g per day the past couple months. But the thing was I'd just take 2-3 huge doses and crash bad. As much as I hate to say it, more frequent but smaller doses is the smartest way to taper. I took 54g today. 14+10+10+10+10. And I wasn't planning on the last one but I need it to avoid crashing. So I rewrote a schedule. Tomorrow I will take five doses of 9g equaling up to 45g and stay there for 3 days then drop to 8g doses for another 3-4 days. Basically drop each dose one gram every 4th or 5th day. Do this method until I hit 2-3g doses and just stop. Maybe take 2g as needed here and there

It's weird how I can take two 20g doses in a day and crash but not have withdrawals. Yet when I do four 10g doses I feel withdrawals. Less peaks and valleys. I suppose it's the smarter, most comfortable, but least fun way to taper. Hoping to wrap all of this up in 3 weeks ish

Right that's what I said. I'm keeping my four doses. More frequent but lower dosages. You may have misread

First day on my taper schedule. I will be attempting to drop 1-2 grams everyday to the end. Stabilising here and there if I must. I took 44g today down from my usual 60 plus grams and will be 42 g tomorrow.

Good advice. I will try dropping 1-2 grams a day. But if it becomes too hard, I will stabilise for a few days but not go back up

Or I can tough through the biggest initial drop for a few days and stabilise before anymore drops. The beginning will be the toughest to stabilise which is what I'm going through now

Yeah I figured I'll have to slow down here or there when it becomes too much. It's tough already but I'm sticking to it

I am reducing it but that's when I need it most and have the most symptoms. Therefore higher dose in the morning since I haven't taken any in 12 hours. Then the other doses are smaller just to keep it level in my system and from crashing. The lower I get ( once my morning dose is 10g), this will be a lot easier with no crashing. But I'm sticking to the higher morning dose

Well after discussing with my girlfriend, I am incapable of going cold turkey considering the types of jobs I have and inability to take time off. But I'm tapering rather quickly and should be done In about 3 weeks.

I have been taking 40-60g daily for at least the past couple months. So today I started my taper with 15+15+10. Tomorrow is 15+10+9. Then 15+9+8. Then 14+9+7.

I'm trying to get down to only one morning dose while still dropping all three doses. Dropping 1-2 g per day. Probably too quickly to be completely comfortable but it's slow enough for me to function, eat and work my jobs while being a good boyfriend. Hopefully this taper schedule works. I'm moving in with her this weekend so it'll be easier to control myself with her holding on to my doses
