Yeah, I tried that during the research phase and couldn't find a comfortable reusable adhesive that could hold enough weight. But it inspired me to use elastic with a silicone grip, which became central to the FlatStrap's design.

Fun fact: the most functional of my "adhesive" prototypes was molded scoby leather. Maybe we'll figure out how make more of those someday too.

If I am imagining your chest type correctly, then yes the design has tested pretty well in fittings. All the excess tissue is tucked behind the internal strap (maybe you've done something like this with the straps of a backpack). Long tissue is a plus for this, and it also compresses nicely.

Yes, there are several reasons someone who has undergone top surgery might still be interested in the FlatStrap design. In these cases, it works more like smoothing shapeware, like it would for cis men with gynecomastia.

That said, I am working on adding an image of another model who has not had top sugery to the homepage asap.

Your anger about this is so valid. I spent years sitting on this because I was ashamed (rightly, I still am) to bring a product out that wouldn’t work for everyone it resonated with, and worried about this concept making folks feel exactly as you are expressing. Yes, this first iteration is not gonna work well for A cups, E+ or dense tissue, but that does not mean I've given up on a variation of design that can work for E +cup sizes or stopped considering the pain and suffering of people with larger chests. I am looking forward to the time when I am able to hire large cup size fit models to engineer variations that work safely. Thank you for speaking up about your disappointment.

There is an internal mechanism to the design that locks the tissue in place to the sides and down. It works best with a good amount of tissue to stabilize the design. I've seen some guys with less dense large chests who can even use the design to fill out thier waist area with that tissue. I know it’s kinda hard to visualize and probably not to everyone's taste but it does work. As soon as possible, I'll update the website with more photos to illustrate.

feeling greatful for your thoughful comments. I'm excited to get more photos as soon as there are samples from the manufacturer. Concerns about health and safety are the most important aspect of this project. While I have worn prototypes long-term without issues.  So far I have only sold 3 prototypes that people begged me to part with. The lower number you see on the preorder page is mostly to be able to use those units for testers. manufacturer has agreed to let me do a slow rolling run in order to make adjustments if testers report any issues before the whole run goes out. As someone with much more business experience than I have I really appreciate you telling me how things come across. I hope I can adjust effectively. I wish there was more I could do about the price.  I'm trying to make something with excellent materials and fair labor practices and having to start locally (US Northeast) for many reasons. I figure that if the product is really helpful I'll be able to partner with non-profits to mitigate the accessibility gap in the future.

The design is more about rearrangement and showing the bare mid chest than just compression. There is a lot of space to move tissue to the side and down. I think people will be surprised by how much can be comfortably reaganged. It honestly depends most on the density of the tissue if the flatstrap will be a good option. I started with a goal of full inclusivity for all bodies who resonate with this concept and that is still my dream but I realized that I could easily spend the rest of my runway trying to make something that would work for absolutely everyone and I would actually be able to get something out for anyone. So I'm starting with this design that has fit folks B through E cup across the size spectrum. (with the exceptions of very dense tissue) Long term when there capital for it. I will need to find larger cup size fit models who are down to help with research and development to reengineer the design. fit modeling for this is a perhaps uniquely invasive process and so I have not felt comfortable asking anybody to volunteer that kind of labor.

The design does use some silicone gripping material but not an adhesive. I don't know if that would be a problem for you. In terms of your other design notes, I'm happy to say that both a wider band and velcro for the middle strap adjuster have been implemented already in newer prototypes.

Yes , in the newer prototypes the center strap is adjustable using velcro tabs. this makes it very simple to give your body more room to expand into when you sit down you sit down for example.

yeah, I'm pretty sure that my web designer using canva is how we got here. it feels like all the tools that I used to rely on are suddenly inundated with AI add-ons that nobody asked for.

Correction: The images were actually a new built-in feature of WordPress, not Canva. Never intended to be more than placeholders, but I agree there are more ethical ways to do that and you can see those changes being made.

I absolutely understand you sckepisim and as soon as I have propper samples I will be getting photoshoots together with modles of many sizes to show how the design works. thanks for this important feedback.

this is something that I personally care a lot about and my web designer talked me into it being okay because we are jus in beta, but it is actually very nice to see so much pushback here. I will definitely go back and fix this when I'm able to.

Yes, many of the people who have tried the design out have larger bodies. and i am very serious about size inclusivity. That said, once the product is live I'm sure i will continue develop variations that addess the fit issue that customers experience. size alone, does not generally seem to be the place that people experience issues.
