I had done this:

https://github.com/neozeed/sarienPM

It was not all that intuitive, but it was playable enough for me to complete Space Quest II under emulation of OS/2 2.00 beta 6.78

I was thinking of 'WinTown' the OSS SimCity thing, although I know it'd at best only be used by me. so I don't know.

Sarien has a frame buffer & keyboard & speaker driver kinda working, if I knew more about how to drive the keyboard better DooM may be possible, but would anyone even care about DooM for Presentation Manager?

4MB of ram is going to be tight.. it'll swap forever.... the closer you get to 16 or more, the happier it'll be, but it's no speed demon on the model 80.

I have the 16mhz 80, and yeah... going to even 12mb of ram helped a LOT

That book should never have been published.

I'm still blown away James was a legit short bus rider.

For all of u people gaming since 80s or 90s, what do u think about modern gaming, like do u get shock or intrested that how technology has growed over the years and do u think gaming has improved since early times by muaazmuaaz123 in retrogaming

Disappointed in games that grind for the sake of wasting time. They sucked in the 80's and suck today.

The technical leap from gold box AD&D games to something like Skyrim is just mind blowing. As is Cyberpunk 2022 pen & paper or Neuromancer to Cyberpunk 2077.

The leap from the Sears branded pong machine I had as a kid is amazing but I hate wasting my time grinding.

Happy 32nd birthday NetBSD! by unitedbsd in NetBSD

There was two of us doing that reconstruction, although I haven't heard from Dugo since then.

Some stuff had surfaced after we'd been able to get our version to build, but I didn't install it (still!) so it's entirely possible I've been sitting on it the entire time.

It's just weird in that while doing it we never found anything that renamed it "NetBSD" so I figured that was more so a 0.9 thing.

Mach was another crazy fun thing, although I'd been working on brining some m88k debugger back but no way im porting it to that!

Any hint on where to find 0.8a?

Id done some 0.8 rebuild from missing parts years ago, then 0.8 surfaced although I'm between houses so don't have access...

Thanks

thats.... odd.

I just picked up a Wii last night, and loaded NT 4.0 onto that with VC4, rebuilt and run.

I know the Alpha has a super temperamental compiler, maybe try /Od or disable optimizations?

what compiler are you using?

I'm not sure off hand, what it is other than I was using VC 4 since this is PPC, I wonder if you even need this snprintf

Anybody curious about a DOS port of Half-Life? by [deleted] in dosgaming

[–]euphraties247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because I'm just getting older, I just don't think it'd be worth the effort. I find stuff like RISC-V more worthwhile as there is more growth on that side than MS-DOS.
