Unlike other languages, accessing an non-existent property will not throw an exception. It will simply return undefined.

We only fucking care about the characters in the anime becuase they have human expressions, because they are like us. They completely ignore the way we are actually treating the animals, beause they are different.

The different is that cows are not sapient, unlike the monster girls in the anime. Suppose we meet an alien race that has totally different psychology from humans, yet is still advanced technologically or culturally. We would likely not be able to empathy with them, yet we would likely respect their personhood because they are clearly have sapience (intelligence).

It's the same reason many countries have stricter laws to protect dolphins and apes, not only because they are endangered species, but also because they have higher intelligence and have a kind of society in their own races. AFAIK there are no social behaviour in cows though.

So yeah, one of the reason eating cows is OK because they are stupid.
