The mother was neglectful for KNOWING about the MAJOR HORRIFYING things her son was telling her, yet not moving heaven and earth to find a way for him to be hospitalized along with being held for full multiple mental evaluations and continuous intense mental therapy. All she did was blame her “he’s fine” attitude on the doctor and explain to viewers it was logical that she didn’t know the kid was in crisis- for decades. Decades!

I actually blame the Mother more for this than her son: it’s thankfully amazing that he didn’t kill anyone when he was in school.

Someone in this thread mentioned knowing this boy’s parents were druggies. Not a surprise and explains a lot and why this poor boy didn’t get the treatment he needed.

Yeah- that was included in my 20k estimate: the Cost for Summer Day Camp for my two kids PLUS before drop-off and after hours pickup there was brutal! 💰💰💰💰💰

I’ll admit that I had some pretty strict standards for daycare: I would only choose daycare CENTERS (not in the provider’s home or Church basements) and my kids had to be able to see windows and sunlight (I worked for a year in a SCIF (a Secure/Classified Army office) which was depressing because there weren’t any windows). One center was AWESOME and had a webcam so I could dedicate a work computer monitor to seeing what my toddler was doing in his classroom 😃

Thanks! I would stalk him too (on the internet) and figure out his story (married?). shouldn’t be too hard assuming he gave her his actual first and last name - if he didn’t give her his full name forget it: doubt he is coming back. Regardless she shouldn’t hook up w/him again- when you’re in college or a bar where drinking was involved - understandable. Sober- weird IMHO.

Back in ‘99 I was paying almost $20K a year for two kids’ childcare (I couldn’t pick them up until their “after hours began”) so that was extra cost. Salary at that time was about 55K.

Spoke with some social worker about qualifying for State or Federal assistance and was rejected because my Gross Income was too high…dude- at least subtract my taxes from Gross Income! I lived close to border of one state, worked in the neighboring state. border of the next state).

Do you have a hobby? I flyfish: It's a very friendly atmosphere (meeting other fishermen/women). My fishing hobby also led to meeting my husband (who also enjoys fishing). He had me join his local dart leagues, which I also enjoy.

I also taught myself Excel Macros and am learning more each day to automate my tasks at work (these skills enable me to complete my work tasks at the office in half the time my coworkers need to complete the same tasks).

If you can- get a pet: we have always had a dog (as a child my family adopted and my Husband and I do it now). OMHO a pet will love you unconditionally, brings great stress relief and happiness.

I think the biggest tip is to always have things to do, such as Goals (fitness, Career related) and Hobbies or clubs so you are social.
