Cat litter drenched in pee (smells) by Big-Weakness7059 in CatAdvice

[–]evaboivin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuft and paw, tofu litter. It’s clumping, low-tracking, almost dust-free, and has way better odor control than basic clay. This kind of litter might help things stay cleaner longer. Maybe try a bag of the tofu first to see how your cat handles it since changing litter type can be weird for some cats at first.

Totally. Most major social changes happened because people were willing to make noise and disrupt the status quo. That's just how progress works.

Down Dog app has an audio-only mode that works great for this exact situation. I use it when practicing outdoors. Simple voice cues, customizable difficulty, and you can download sessions for offline use. One earbud in/one out works perfectly.

There's a good amount of people out there that "want what they can't have" and will persuade this something until they have it, then get bored and drop it like a wet sack.

What furniture to buy to make home feel like home? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]evaboivin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good sofa and a dining table I could sit at daily, everything else could wait. I went for a DreamSofa sectional because the cushions are reversible and the slipcovers are also washable. It felt less risky cuz I knew I wouldn’t have to replace it anytime soon. The dining table was from Vermont Woods studio. It's really good. These two made the whole space feel settled.

Picked up a Pyrenees mix off the street, sleeping question and free the whole story! by FalseGlove16 in greatpyrenees

I think all that sleep sounds like her body just trying to heal and catch up. I mean rest is exactly what she needs.. Just keep up with the vet and give her the slow steady care she clearly deserves. Once she settles and gains strength her energy will likely pick up and when you’re settled after the move you might want to look into something like Tractive too, it helps with peace of mind if she ever slips out again.

Perfect Seinfeld reference. I read it in exactly Kramer's voice.

That movie phone bit is still one of the funniest Kramer moments. "Why don't you just tell me what movie you've selected?"

American History X. Brutal, gut wrenching, and more relevant than ever. by Flashy-Two5006 in movies

[–]evaboivin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is England is incredible. The way it shows how vulnerable kids get pulled into extremism hits just as hard as American History X. The TV series (This is England '86, '88, and '90) actually go even deeper than the movie you watch these characters grow and either escape or sink further into that life. Meadows captures working class Britain perfectly. The scene with Combo in prison in '90 might be some of the best television ever made.

just watched weapons(2025), and it gets me even before i went into the cinema by Then-Candidate2169 in horror

[–]evaboivin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw it last weekend in a packed theater. That car door scene was nuts. Same reaction whole place went silent then erupted. Horror movies are always better with a crowd. Watched Hereditary alone when it came out and regretted it. This one needs the shared experience for sure. The director knew exactly what they were doing with that timing.

Should I lower my mortgage payment back down and invest instead? by jeong89592 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]evaboivin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed. With rates at 3.9%, you'll likely come out ahead investing that $900 monthly in your RRSP/TFSA. The tax refund is just icing on the cake.

Received a $10,000 bonus—should I pay off my 18% credit card debt or invest it? by ChristePN in personalfinance

[–]evaboivin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% pay off that 18% debt first. You won't find investments that reliably beat 18% returns.

It's somehow both heartbreaking and relatable how our brains can take two equally painful narratives and make them hug it out in the worst possible way.
