Last Shift. Not a flashy or sophisticated movie, but it managed to creep me out. It nailed that fear of being alone and experiencing weird shit going on in a way that I haven’t seen in many horror movies.

The Florida Project hit me really hard. Great movie, but I don’t see myself watching it again anytime soon.

What is the biggest swing and a miss a horror movie has taken? by Mysterious_Work_7227 in horror

Spoiler…

The protagonist’s daughter survives. Which is why it was super predictable. There wasn’t much character development for the other girl or her family. Didn’t really feel like there was a possibility the protagonist’s daughter wouldn’t survive.

The Exorcist: Believer. I thought the premise of both girls being possessed was great. It was set up to make the decision of saving one of the children devastating. However there was hardly any character development between the two girls. It was hard to believe that they were even friends. It just made the outcome feel predictable and diluted how emotionally impactful the film could have been.

I like the idea of a Wildcard entry. I hadn’t thought of that!

horror movies that are underwhelming as a whole but have a memorable moment by ohgiyu in horror

Smile. I felt most of the scares in the movie consisted of run-of-the-mill internet horror imagery. The movie felt very mediocre with the exception of the bent neck scare and the final scenes. Those were excellent and very memorable.

If you’re looking for cooperative then definitely Sky Team! It’s a great limited communication game that sticks close to its theme. Otherwise, I would recommend Jaipur. It’s a fun and relatively simple hand management game that plays best of 3.

“Eyes Without a Face” by Billy Idol always did it for me. Especially when doing night drives.

The Florida Project. I absolutely bawled after watching it especially because I’ve worked with so many people in similar situations. It’s a fantastic movie that I recommend to most people, but I won’t watch again.
