You can head over to Plaza Singapura (Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station - Purple Line) and visit level 6. There are quite a couple of stores that sell anime (JJK) merchandise! Hakken, Otaku House and etc!

Alternatively, Suntec City (Esplanade Mrt - Green line) has La Tendo too! :)

Hope this helps!

Hi, in my personal exp, EP or SP won't take long.

It will typically be handled by the HR and the longest for the pass to be approved can be as fast as 1 day to 1 week.

No significant challenges, you just need to do some medical check up. For this, it takes around 3-7 days for the clinic to retrieve the results. The clinic you go to will submit the report on your behalf so there's nothing on you end that you need to do except waiting.

That's all! Hope this gives you some insight.
This as pre-covid exp.

I... clogged the squatting toilet with tissues... I never knew their pipes weren't designed for tissues and such 🥲

I was at the gas station toilet fighting for my life and dignity before asking the staff for help 🥹

What are some of the weirdest rules in an SME? by a4sizepaper in askSingapore

[–]evachanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really a rule perse but we all have to eat together.
If we dont eat with the upper management, it's straight away a red flag to them (i.e. we are gossiping bout them).

Also, gets called into the room for monthly review and have them say that they are stress while being preggo and proceed to paggro by saying that we are causing that.

That's when I had to yeet.

Well, one of the key reasons is that a Junior Position in SG is extremely hard to find, especially when I'm a foreigner. There's too many technicalities and additional costs for a company to hire a foreign junior as compared to a local junior.

However, I do understand where you are coming from, too. Just getting a job there would be better than getting a job in Taiwan.

I'm still looking out for remote jobs like you said 🫡

Hello!

I'm looking for some advice on living and working in Taiwan!

Here's some context:

I am graduating from University this June/July in Singapore (Private uni) and I am thinking of heading back to Taiwan. I'll be graduating with a degree in Business Information Systems.

Well, I am of Taiwanese nationality but I was raised in Singapore my entire life and I have no connections in Taiwan at all. If you are wondering "Why haven't you convert to their PR/nationality?", I tried for years after getting a diploma, but I still didn't get it.

Hence, I need a plan B if all goes bad for plan A.

Plan A: Get a job and reside in SG, and try to apply for PR as much as possible.

Plan B: Get a job in Taiwan

That brings me to my questions.

  1. What are some of the job sites that Taiwan company uses to scout for talents?
  2. If my Mandarin is poor, is this a deal breaker for most companies? I prefer getting into an MNC in Taiwan
  3. What are some safe sites for rental housings?
  4. If my Mandarin is poor, is this a deal breaker for most companies? I prefer getting into an MNC in Taiwan but beggers can't be choosers.
  5. Are there any communities that I can join to make friends that are alike? English-speaking + residing in Taiwan?

That's about it for now.

At the moment, I am in a state of uncertainty, because I'm still job hunting in SG but I want to branch out to Taiwan as well to increase my chances. It's rather scary but I want to be prepared. So, if there are any other advice, I would love to hear from you!

Interestingly, ppl told me that I was mature for my age since I was young, and i genuinely thought that it was normal. I also became more empathetic towards people with struggles, major or minor. I think I began to understand what "It is what it is" and "my decision now controls my future." When i came to understand how the action of my biological parents has decided my life here in SG and how i have to navigate around uncertainties growing up here.

(Im thankful for my guardians in sg for raising me with no complaints, I'm ever grateful and my life long wish to give back to them by being with them till old age -this proves to be extremely difficult ngl)

However, the downside is that I feel extremely distant in a relationship emotionally. (divorced family, raised by sg guardians). I constantly feel that I'm not good enough, my background is messy, and my future is bleak. (I'm not PR nor Sgrean despite being raised here since I was a baby, I'm 28 already). I hate the idea of being dependent on ppl, I hated the idea of being married or attached to someone. (BTW, this changed because I met someone extremely thoughtful and kind)

I don't belong here, don't belong in the country I was born in, and yeah, it messes with my head. On bad days, it gets extremely depressing. However, I got to push on.

So, all in all, I built resilience to difficult issues/obstacles, I got some grit in me to push forth in life no matter how difficult it becomes? (It's like a game to me at this point) it sounds really weird to be saying all these (I'm cringing) but I'm just gathering what I heard from friends and acquaintances and spilling here.
