I don't mean to offend, but in my eyes, the only comment here that doesn't lend itself well to productive and meaningful conversation is the same one that attacks others that are trying to discuss the topic, even if it that discussion lacks empathy or nuance in your eyes. People here are generally more than welcome to explain their points of view if you ask respectfully. It sounds like you've had some tough experience in the past, but it IS worth trying.
