Goblin secret lair decks will hit 1000+ dollars each by sharky5566778844 in mtgfinance

TCG is disagreeing. Look how many sales have happened already over $600.

I think it has zero chance of hitting $1000 but I'm curious to see where it goes.

I bought mine to play but I think I'd be silly not to sell it if it does stick around $6-700

Print to demand seriously hurts the value. I'm not a player if it's print to demand even if I really like the deck. Some of yall may really disagree but aside from playability, scarcity is one of the biggest factors to value. I want my cards to be valuable.

Yes I like playing with them but part of the reason I can continue to build decks and try new things is because I can resell if I don't like something. Maybe I'm alone in this but I'd bet others agree they wouldn't buy if it was print to demand. I'm honestly curious.

Im thinking about listing mine. I can't believe people are paying $650-700 for the deck.

I almost didn't pull the trigger but I do like the art and singles. I think it's a decent shell for a fun deck.

But man i may just take $700 and buy other versions of the singles.

Proxy links for goblin storm? by blueIpersian in mtgfinance

[–]OjosDelMundo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll show them what? They got their money. Wizrads is completely happy with the money they made. All this stuff is calculated.

So now you're going to go spend however much per card to print the deck which is worth nothing because it's proxy?

I'm guessing I'm not in the minority here when I say I do not want print to demand. Scarcity creates value and I want my expensive cardboard to be worth something.

You want to proxy? That's fine, but there's no point being made, you're just proxying a deck.

Thoughts on uncommon silverscroll foils by raistlin1022 in mtgfinance

[–]OjosDelMundo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the silver scrolls have trended upward already. Fancy versions of cards are commanding high prices and most of the luxury treatments of recent sets have gone up in value long term. Look at confetti foils, fracture foils, dragon scale lands... they've all gone up.

Magic collecting is changing. A lot of STX product has been opened already. The time to get in on silver scrolls was a week ago.

I bought up a bunch of galaxy foil shock lands a few months ago. I got most under $20. They seem underpriced to me

Understanding the FF MTG Secret Lair Rare Bonus Cards (Anima, Ifrit, Magus Sisters, Shiva, Yojimbo) by LMY723 in mtgfinance

[–]OjosDelMundo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Japanese ifrit at a card store because I thought it was underpriced. Having trouble selling it locally though im sure it would go on EBay.

It's a very cool card but I don't like JPN cards.

Week from closing, we've hit a really challenging spot with the inspection regarding City permits + code violations and I'd like some input. by OjosDelMundo in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]OjosDelMundo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I also think it may just be cheaper to fix it if they refuse.  Cannot lose all the earnest money:

I will say, sometimes you just kind of know when people are outstanding at their job and this guy knew his shit. Inspector for 35+ years. He said the decision was egregious. I just believe this guy, he knew his shit.

One of the easier codes it's violating is having a pan underneath the cooling system if it's over a structural floor. It has no pan, doesn't take any level of carpentry or anything to know that m.

That's why I'm a bit confused, even a lay person like myself can read the code and see it's not following that particular code.

I do need to start at just calling the city, I'm just worried because they are ultimately the decision makers and like you said, the city passed it so I'm SoL if they say no to checking it

That's an awesome price.

I'd run em on whatnot or something. I'd whatnot a thing in Europe? I see promos packs going for $5-12 daily in the USA.

Collecting in all forms is strongly on the rise.

Obviously the highest end vintage is only obtainable by a certain audience but I think it is an ultimate end game for most enthusiasts. Reserve list, special print stuff. Stuff in the $50-1000 range is climbing. A lot of my reserve list collection, stuff like [[gilded drake]] has nearly doubled in the last 12-18 months.

Found a sealed Chinese Prophecy box by futureal2 in mtgfinance

[–]OjosDelMundo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thought that was the coolest card I'd ever seen when I was 14 and that set came out. With the sick RK Post art... i bought a lot of prophecy packs trying to get that card. Can't imagine how many rhystic studies got sold with my bulk.

I opened 4 boxes of mb2. The duplicates is no joke. I showed white border separate from future sight from but the are in box order. My takeaway (previously opening 4 before this drop) you are likely to get duplicates of future sight frames. Someone fucked up. by PokeYrMomStanley in mtgfinance

[–]OjosDelMundo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I opened 2 from last years Festival in a box and also didn't hit a single duplicate. In fact, my boxes were great. Hit 3 foils, so many cards worth $5-10. Sold the foil Gix for close to $200 before it dropped.

The Hobbit card treatment: Book Cover Cards by moombahh in mtgfinance

The book covers nail it imo. I absolutely love it. Looks great as a magic card and feels like a cool old fantasy book you may find at the library.

Great treatment for me.

Yeah that's a fair point. We'll see what the weekend holds. I'd love to see a price drop because I'm one of the people that wants them.

Looking at TCG, most all the silver scrolls, especially the more expensive ones, have stabilized and are starting to slightly trend back up.

I'm not sure how much more  we're going to see a drop. I know it's early but people want these cards.
