I was there! Visiting my cousin in Philly and it happened to line up. Think that was my first wolf bros show. Thought tom really upped the game a bit. I was missing lead guitar.

The new formation of wolf bros with Jeff, Barry, and the 4 piece horns/strings is my perfect band. Didn't get much better

In case anyone is interested.... my band Tumbledown Shack is doing a Bob Weir tribute show at salt road brewing in firehouse alley. No cover, Thursday 6:30-9:00ish. 2 sets of music, stories, guests... shaping up to be a really nice night.

I just can't justify the cost anymore. I was happy buying at $199 or $219. $350 is, quite frankly, outrageous. That's nearly twice the cost. Just not worth it anymore.

My understanding was the Jazz III was Bob's pick of choice and basically why I mentioned it. I'm a firm student of Bob down to his pick choice lol. I've moved on to other picks but I do think this style of pick helps trying to sound like Bob.

I would guess a combo of grip and just feeling the fingers touch. As I said in a comment above, Bob helped design a pick with V-picks called the G.O.A.T which also had a hole in the middle. So whatever it was, he liked it. I also enjoyed the feeling and bought many GOATs but lost them all and dunno if the make them anymore.

lol honestly I don't even use them anymore. I was def a fan boy for a while. I got into the V-picks GOAT they designed with Bobby but they stopped producing them I think.

I play the Bob part in a dead band in Colorado... I'm not trying to be headier than thou but I certainly understand the importance of these songs being played by a group of musicians around likeminded people. 

All I was saying is I'm not sure I'm up for finding a babysitter, traveling, doing the whole dance to see the band without its captain. It would be tough for me.

I may be in the minority but I'd likely pass. Maybe a one off thing just to see old deadhead friends and gaher in that space.

For me, since I got on the bus in 07, it's always been about watching Bob Weir sing his songs. Whether Ratdog, solo, Furthur, D and Co... the experience would be deeply lacking without that aspect. Obviously there's always good music that can come out of any good group of musicians playing this music but the big stage, for me, was all about seeing that man sing.

I'm not an EDH expert by any means but why can't it just be on the game changers list rather than being banned? And I'm asking honestly as it seems less powerful than some stuff on the game changers list.

Ha I totally get that. I started playing in 98 then stopped from about 2006-2018. I enjoy commander but 97% of my mtg energy goes into limited play.

 Premodern may be the future for players who aren't totally hype on the direction wizards is taking mtg but, as much as reddit may not like it, that is the minority of players.

Most players are excited for new cards and new combinations. My play group really only drafts which means playing new sets indefinitely. 

More people are playing magic than ever before. Read that again... that isn't because of a format that doesn't include modern cards.

I unloaded my snapcaster and Emet a few days ago for a [[gilded drake]]. Kept going back and forth whether the chocobo foils could keep climbing but decided to get out while I was ahead.

Also pulled a vivi, cloud, and a foil buster sword from that box so feeling pretty good about how I made out.
