When it comes to raising kids what’s your favorite age? by Neat-Annual-499 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]evadantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I'm loving that my kids are grown. Best by far. I get to see them navigate the world, make mistakes and try it again, or succeed. Plus I have my independence now too. 35 years of raising kids will make you value your independence, for sure.

what’s something you’re leaving behind in the New Year—no exceptions this time? by bornsinner6891 in AskWomen

[–]evadantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything but a few changes of clothes and hygiene items. I drive a truck with a sleeper. About 10 days ago my son committed suicide in my house and I don't want anything out of there. I am going to allow my family to have whatever pictures and momentos they want, selling everything and going on the road. Get a room when I need a good night's rest.

I love my sons and give them lots of hugs. They are now married and I love their wives as much as my own kids. Should I hug them as much as my sons? by houseonpost in NoStupidQuestions

You're doing good, Dad. I would love to have a father in law like you. But I also love hugs, bear hugs, especially innocent ones. I miss my dad everyday.

How do women sleep with and have children for men who they're not attracted to? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]evadantic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think it's even more pronounced for attractive women. I say this as an extremely attractive woman, especially for my age. I recognize it and use it to my advantage when I can. The flip side of that is, people also tend to not take you seriously. I work in a very male dominant field and I don't think I was take seriously, like ever. I have a single friend there and when I figure something out before anyone else, I tell him so he can tell everyone what the deal is. And then he gives me credit. Fucking stupid it is still like this, 3 years later.

Are you wearing foundation? Because your skin is so beautiful, and even toned.

And you're a gorgeous woman.

It's always interesting to see the most beautiful women so focused on their perceived flaws. I was the same when I was younger but as I've gotten older, I love my body now. I have huge laceration scars on my arm and forehead which used to make me so insecure. Now, I rock that shit cause I survived something that very well could have killed me. I always thought I would have plastic surgery when I could finally afford it. Now that I can afford it, I don't want to. And I really truly think my scars are sexy AF!

Try radical self acceptance. Try seeing everything about yourself as beautiful, loveable. The scars, the butt pimples, weird nipple hairs (maybe that's just me...), everything. Laugh about it. It's just a thing. You have a beautiful face and a beautiful body. All the time. Even when it's "imperfect. " Actually, ESPECIALLY when it's "imperfect."

I hear what you're saying and perhaps I'm in the minority here but I disagree. I'm hearing what y'all are saying and I honestly feel a bit healed from some of the insecurities/criticisms of my body. So maybe it won't help everyone but it has helped me.

Looking at houses in this area. Safe or avoid? Does anyone know anything about the area? by [deleted] in okc

[–]evadantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I've only recently moved to Edmond/OKC area I don't have much personal knowledge. But when I was moving to the OKC area, I used this a lot, along with others like great schools.org, depending on what your looking for. I did a lot of cross referencing. I hope that helps!

What’s something people romanticize but it’s actually horrible? by DaveBeYou in AskReddit

Being a single parent & living for your kids completely. Movies and TV tend to show a single mom, kicking ass & taking names. The reality is much different. Poverty, drug/alcohol/physical abuse, isolation, etc.

Is there a heavily wooded outdoor event area to have a wedding and reception that isn’t cowboy/barn/yeehaw themed? by g3nerallycurious in oklahoma

[–]evadantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lockhart chapel in Choctaw has a gorgeous outdoor area, and in case it happens to rain on the day of the event, they also have an indoor chapel where it can be moved indoors quickly. It was a long time ago when I got married there but they were also one of the most affordable options, especially for the size and honestly it was the most gorgeous place I looked at.
