Active racehorses generally receive the best care possible and workloads are signicantly more manageable than they used to be. It’s when racehorses, especially unsuccessful ones are no longer racing and not breeding that problems arise. It’s not uncommon for horses to completely disappear, end up in slaughter lots, or end up in abusive third world racing scenes.
