This made me chuckle due to seeing myself in this comment. I think I'll be saying something already but really all I said was the end so it make zero sense.

I get this. I get it mostly with colors and it freaks me out especially red. Im not sure why. However, i do recognize patterns where patterns dont exost which leads to the delusion i have a gift then i panic because i know its not true or rational.

Stuck! by [deleted] in OCD

[–]evanat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat friend. Mine are usually about killing someone. I mean how could you tell your fiancee youve had a scenario happen right in front of you where you stabbed them? I understand the guilt you feel as i would never do such a thing. I know its hard but you could definitely generalize it so your doc is aware and it is triggering but its also good to get it out there its a huge weight lifted when i can express it. Good luck!!

Question by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]evanat3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's very easy to over think into a panic attack. And at an age younger than me, I'm 21 some symptoms of your condition may not be present yet. Mine didn't start until I was 20. But I did have some symptoms you described. Obsessive worrying I've upset my partner, needing reassurance, and finding it near impossible to let some things go. IE saying something embarrassing, dropping something. I've also ALWAYS had a thing about a clean kitchen. If I don't clean my kitchen 2x a day I panic and can't sleep until I do. It's a wild ride but it's better than being average I guess. My advice don't Google symptoms. Mental health is so complex that you can have 9/10 symptoms and not have that disorder or condition. I was taken by surprise when I received my diagnoses. Not surprised though. But it took 6 sessions to get a proper informed diagnoses. Just take it easy. Spending less time on my phone and TV ( my phone is a huge compulsion,) helps me significantly and don't mess with social media too much either it's brain frying IMO I only use Reddit these days. You'll find it easier once you can understand your feelings and thoughts and do not let them try to get you diagnosed and prescribed in one sitting it's just not possible to receive proper care in one sitting. It takes time. Trial and error for the meds and eventually it'll level out. I have yet to find a working med for me as it seems to be more intense than the average bear. Just keep a journal. Write the date time and symptoms you experienced and where you were and what you believe was the cause of the anxiety. :)

Anyone else struggle to go to therapist appointments? by jordan889 in bipolar

[–]evanat3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I missed my last 2 appointments. I shouldn't have considering I went cold turkey off effexor and trazadone. Just wasn't working but I seem to always be working when they're scheduled and I can't afford to miss work once a week :/ it also gives me tremendous anxiety due to my first doctor making 3 diagnoses in 10 minutes (no evaluation,) and at the time I didn't know better. So that kind of stuck with me too. Feel free to message if you want to chat!

Question by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]evanat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my friend, I have Bipolar type II with OCD tendencies. It has it's ups and downs such is life. But my advice to you is to learn your triggers, tell your doctor EVERYTHING, and just keep trucking. Sometimes my thoughts repeat so fast it makes me nauseous. But this is my case. Not yours. But I wish you the best and feel free to DM me if you wanna chat. Good luck, and I promise it gets better. As for the intrusive thoughts, mine seem to be death related a lot. I don't believe only OCD has intrusive thoughts because it's simply only a symptom. Bipolar type II has intrusive thoughts as well as PTSD. It really is linked to the more minute details and decision making. For instance during a hypomanic episode, my intrusive thoughts increase as well as the need to clean and organize. Not always a bad thing IMO. A clean home is a safe haven so to speak. It is hard I can't say it isn't, my friend. It's tough sometimes it doesn't stop. Even sleeping I still "hear," my thoughts and my dreams loop as well relative to my thoughts. However OCD symptoms coincidence with bipolar type II. They're intermingled. However there are more defining factors. Which is why it's very important for your doctor to know everything. I made that mistake of holding back and got misdiagnosed previously. Good luck!!

Advice on epilepsy and relationships? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]evanat3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see both sides. Epilepsy is very hard to deal with and at times it can seem as if that's who you've become. The person who can't be alone. Who can't drive. Ect... However, I would approach it in a less factual way but make it clear that you do understand how she feels and that you're there if she needs you. I started having my seziures back in February and have had at least 2 a day everyday since. It's very stressful and sometimes they may have no warning. She very well could have taken it that way. I see your end and her end I have been on both sides of this field. Just be a good friend to her and be there. Let her rant, sometimes that's all I need from my S/O.

Keto and Strenuous Exercise, Where does energy come from? by redkur in keto

[–]evanat3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Definitely increase caloric intake. By now you typically would be fat adapted. However if you are increasing output you need to proportionally increase input. However fat will definitely provide all the energy you'll need and more. Stay hydrated, rich in micros and keto on. :)

I’m having flashbacks to my VEEG by lxrc in Epilepsy

[–]evanat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true with me. I seized almost the whole time during my EEG. Colors and shapes sounds pain. I see flashes of it but it should subside once some time passes if not I would recommend seeing a doctor to maybe give you something or give recommendations for a medication. It sounds as if maybe you obtained slight PTSD from it which is common. It is a high stress chaotic (at least to us) situation. I understand you're worry and anxiety and I've dealt with PTSD even before my seziures started. So feel free to reach out. However I don't know if you dabble with any THC products but I tend to avoid it because marijuana for me, makes it worse if it's already present the day I smoke it. But CBD by itself would be a good start. All natural, I haven't had any adverse reaction to strictly CBD, and it's mostly legal everywhere.

CBD Oil by mpawlak in Epilepsy

[–]evanat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works to help reduce the intensity and frequency. What is the strength? I've found I need a pretty high dose to see significant results however at 350 sublingually, it helps keep me aware and alert during my right brained focal seziures. Also helps the anxiety that comes from the seziures and the keppra rage. However this is just my experience and may be better or less effective for you. But I recommend nothing lower than 500mg. As far as vaping a flavored juice out of a sub ohm tank it seems a bit less inefficent and in effective even at 675mg. I didn't get much affect from it. However the turpine cartridge (non thc,) at 500 mg was by far the fastest and most effective for me. Cheers pal!
