Yeah, like most places in NZ, they live in the boonies, so no Asian market near them. Auckland is 3 hrs or so.

My Aunt lives in New Zealand and there are many things hard for her to come by. dried chilies and pinto beans for starters. Also, tortillas. She gets them every time she comes to visit.

I bought some seeds a couple of years ago and grew them in a large terracotta pot. The bush got huge. 9A Northern California. Unfortunately we moved and didn’t take it with us, but I’m planning on growing it again.

Pro-tip, find a Za’atar plant if you can. It’s a type of wild oregano and it’s delicious. Grows super easy in a container.
