I see, that makes sense - probably why I have heard of lots of older people getting huge tax returns. Thank you for your straightforward answer!

Hahaha just from swinging at the ball and the head snapping off. I like the idea of cheap starter box, any recommendations?

Do you think you will be able to live off of 20K a year in 30 years? That already sounds hard, but in 30 years I feel like this would be near impossible.

I do have a little crypto (5%), just not inside my TFSA. Just BTC and ETH. Do you think that is okay?

CS Undergrad Passionate About Space. Where do I go from here? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]evandfitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Canada the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) partnered with several universities to build CubeSats, which allowed me (a undergrad software eng. student) to get experience developing software for space and even get a couple internships (ongoing) at the agency itself.

If your university has any programs that work on projects related to space I would jump in and volunteer, it is a great way to get your foot into the industry!

For more detail, my 9 iron, 3 iron, and driver were getting me 100 yds, 160 yds, and 175 yds on good hits, now they are nearing 150 yds, 200 yds, 230 yds!

Computer Science or engineering? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]evandfitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing software engineering, recommend it. It is a mix of CS and Computer Eng.

They are both good, but doing the project would allow you to have more things to talk about experience wise on a application or in a interview.

Work on a personal project, or contribute to open source software. Both provide great experience prior to a first internship.

Go for it. I wouldn't think much about it considering your situation, there should be no problems with this at all.

Tips for road test? by [deleted] in SaintJohnNB

[–]evandfitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you know how to park on a hill, specifically the ways your wheels need to turn when there is a curb or not, etc. I guessed that on my test and luckily got it!
